We’re recruiting for multiple positions so be sure you review all of our job postings.  This job posting is for a <strong>Shipping Clerk with a pay range of $27.91/hour - $29.88/hour</strong>. To coordinate for on-time delivery to all customers by looking ahead with customer service and production by arranging carriers for pick up. The person’s role is to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>JOB FUNCTIONS:</strong> The following is a list of specific duties which are considered the essential functions of this job.  The list is not exhaustive, as all positions at the Company are dynamic.  The employee who occupies this position is expected to assume any/all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in this list.</p><p> </p><p> </p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Work within and adhere to GPI’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.</li><li>Responsible for compliance with all facility product safety (GMP’s)/Sanitation policies and procedures.  Employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area. </li><li>Coordinate outgoing customer shipment requirements with customer service personnel.</li><li>Set up appropriate truck lines to carry shipments and use Allen Lund freight plan. Communicate pertinent information to carrier. </li><li>Responsible for on-time pickup and delivery of product, while minimizing detention though up to date and accurate load planning.</li><li>Maintain accurate freight rate information using Allen Lund freight plan.</li><li>Complete manifest and bill of lading information to support shipment.  Shipping clerk must sign bill of lading and obtain drivers signature on bill of lading. Understand and use T-Box pick ticket, etc. </li><li>Coordinate with finishing supervisor and scheduler for items in process that are needed for shipment.</li><li>Review all incoming board and corrugated shipment paperwork. Complete internal receiving function, and supply paperwork to front office.</li><li>Spot trailers</li><li>Prepare warehouse for physical inventory;</li><li>Participates in periodic carrier service reviews; measures and collects data and prepares performance reports, conducts cycle counts, and audits shipping documents to insure proper invoicing.</li><li>Insure all outgoing loads are clean.  Blow dust off loads.</li><li>Prepare and inspect all loads to customer specifications for outbound freight, including banding and stretch wrapping.</li><li>Maintain a clean, orderly and safe environment in the warehouse.</li><li>Consistent and prompt attendance is required in this position.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Manufacturing experience preferred</li><li>Mechanical/technical aptitude</li><li>Entry Level Computer skills</li><li>Must have Feeder/Operator experience.</li><li>Must be flexible: Able to work all shifts, overtime and weekends when needed.</li><li>Must be able to speak, read and write English. Need to have basic math skills. Mechanical aptitude a plus.
