As a Sr. Account Executive, you will represent GPI completely and successfully in all interactions with customers both internally and externally. Initiate and maintain long-term relationships with various functional groups at assigned and developed accounts. Work from company policies and objectives to lead associates in a focused way to serve customers satisfactorily and profitably. The ability to work with very little guidance and/or direction is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Be a primary day to day commercial point of contact for any account assignments.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with prospects and customers to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.
- Close sales deals and meet or exceed sales targets.
- Proactively identify and target potential leads in need of folding carton solutions. Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads/prospecting activity.
- Know and understand customer requirements and support GPI teams with this information.
- Coordinate and work closely with customer service/GPI teams to ensure the best customer experience.
- Collaborate with Sales Leadership, Sales Project Manager, Marketing and Production teams to align strategies with company goals.
- Develop and implement systems, touchpoints, reports, guidelines, and process to keep customer business organized and performing as needed.
- Proactively assess, clarify and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors' products. Use this knowledge to form sales strategies and identify new opportunities.
- Develop regular reports and communications with customers on critical business metrics.
- Coordinate GPI resources (i.e., marketing, technical, operations, Graphics, customer service) to provide value added services and support to accounts.
- Regularly use SalesForce.com, SQL/PACG and SAP as core tools of the position.
- Knowledge of Excel and working with spreadsheets, pricing matrices, specification documents, and online bidding portals.
- Strong understanding of equipment and technology profiles, capabilities, metrics and carton production process.
- Provide or coordinate technical assistance in resolving issues with GPI cartons at customer plants as needed.
- Support the needs of GPI internal stakeholders, plant and operational leaders, customer service teams, demand and capacity planning teams and finance teams.
- Coordinate and update tailored presentation material(s) encompassing all GPI capabilities.
- Deliver confidence, loyalty and best in class service.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with prospects and new customers.
Required Skills

- Subject matter expert with CRM software and MS office applications (Salesforce, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments across multiple company locations.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Required Experience
- Proven success in “hunting” and closing on new business opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably an MBA or equivalent practical experience.
- Knowledge of the packaging and Consumer Products industries is a plus.
- Required Travel ~ 50%
Pay Range: $88,600.00 - $118,100.00
