Title:  Accounting Specialist

As a Accounting Specialist, you perform accounting functions requiring thorough knowledge of general accounting methods, principles and practices and a broad understanding of a corporate organization.  Develops and implements solutions to daily accounting issues.

This position supports different business units throughout the Food Service Division


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES are, but not limited to the following:


  • Purchasing
    • Write-up non raw material purchase requisitions
    • Enter all PO’s in SAP
    • New vendor set up as needed
    • Place orders with vendors and get order confirmations
    • Take vendor payment inquiries
    • Run/resolve Blocked invoice, Open Goods Receipts and Non-Blocked Invoice reports weekly
    • Resolve PINS (problem invoices) issues as needed
    • Monthly open PO report
    • Non-PO vendor and invoice management (e.g., temp help, sample center, sales rep promotions)
  • Plate & Graphics Customer Service
    • Enter Debit Memos in QAD for plates/graphics billing to external customers (Evergreen Packaging) and internal customers (Marion, North Portland)
    • Contact customer to resolve PO discrepancies
    • Contact plate rooms to resolve customer discrepancies
  • Accounting
    • Daily Analysis:
      • Javastock inventory reconciliation
      • Javastock sales/discount tracking
    • Weekly:
      • Customer discount percent analysis in QAD
      • Run Foodservice aged raw material inventory reports for all plants
      • Foodservice Graphics/plates reports
      • Enter actual freight paid from CASS report into QAD
      • Follow-up with external customers regarding past due invoices




  • Minimum of 4 - 6 years of experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
  • Experience using an ERP platform (Microsoft Dynamics AX, SAP, Oracle) preferred.
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred but not required
