Reporting to the Manager Capacity Planning & Analysis II, Foodservice, the Analyst, Demand Planning will develop and control the demand planning processes and systems for the assigned territories/accounts.  Building upon a well-conceived and maintained statistical forecast, he/she will enhance the demand plan by adding personal expertise in forecasting, statistics and systems while effectively incorporating sales, marketing and executive knowledge. He/she will execute their role to manage and exceed customer expectations while aligning with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.


JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following. . .

  • Facilitate and coordinate the demand planning process for assigned customers
  • Continually evaluate the statistical forecasting models to improve forecast accuracy
  • Research and correct sources of inaccuracy utilizing reporting systems and statistical methods
  • Apply expert knowledge of forecasting techniques to the demand plan, including coordination of limited time offerings and lost business
  • Negotiate different forecasts from various sources to create a single demand plan
  • Create and revise short- and medium-term demand forecasts directly impacting manufacturing, inventories, material acquisition and the distribution network
  • Develop long term forecasts which can act as the basis for strategic and financial planning
  • Develop and assure adherence to the planning calendar
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Monthly demand plan to meet the needs of assigned customers
  • Monthly significant changes report
  • Various reports by others to assist with forecast development
  • Weekly progress report for other projects assigned



  • 2 years of related experience in Demand Planning, Capacity/Supply Planning and/or Supply Chain Management
  • Knowledge and/or experience in process development, planning/manufacturing software and reporting systems is preferred.



  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, a degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Logistics or Operations is preferred
  • Familiarity with supply chain concepts and business operations



  • Strong analytical skills are required, specifically within MS Excel to include v-look ups, pivot tables, and graphing
  • Ability to apply analytic techniques to interpret data, identify issues, analyze causes, and provide well-reasoned conclusions and solutions
  • Ability to build strong relationships, considering diverse perspectives & different styles
  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of urgency and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across all business function areas is required
  • Preferred skills: In depth knowledge of MRP; APICS CPIM certification



  • General schedule is an 8am – 5pm M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.



  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
