Objective

 

The Pricing Analyst supports the Americas Business in the development of bid strategies, is an active member of the Key Account Management (KAM) Team, develops and recommends pricing strategies for bids and projects, works closely with Estimating to develop creative and low cost solutions to opportunities, monitors key market performance and account activity for the division, maintains the Outlook and Plan at a detailed level for their accounts, and tracks price and price recovery by account to ensure market/cost changes are recovered in  the marketplace.

 

Outcomes

 

  • Assimilate and familiarize yourself with all your key accounts, supply agreements, and customers (internal/external).  Establish and foster the individual account processes, key contact relationships and required information feeds to enable Pricing & Price Recovery tool with an 18 month perpetual Outlook. 
  • Work with the other Commercial Managers to establish and implement process, systems and structure to facilitate ease of access to pertinent market intelligence in a timely fashion for use in pricing  decisions. 
  • Begin to familiarize yourself with the market segment(s) which you’ll represent and serve as the category leader (ex. Cereal, Pizza, Tissue, QSR, Soaps & Detergents or Private Label).  This will involve working with Sales Leadership to develop a prospectus on this market to include: current & potential customers, the competitive set, market size and pricing, GPI share and profitability, et al.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Develop bid and pricing strategies and proposals in cooperation with sales and business goals. 
  • Recommend price points and terms based upon market conditions, product segment and account dynamics.
  • Provide financial analysis (customer impact, GPI YOY EBITDA, and GPI Cash Flow) of pricing proposals and bid submissions.
  • Maintain 18 month perpetual Sales Revenue Outlook by account based upon customer forecast, history, and economic projections.
  • Maintain 18 month perpetual Pricing Outlook by account based upon customer agreements, raw material market projections and other price drivers (ex. Freight)
  • Maintain and track pricing recovery by account to ensure market/cost changes are recovered in the marketplace.
  • Participate in Lean Sigma projects and deploy improvements as appropriate.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Estimating.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Work experience in two of the three fields of Operations Management, Finance, and Sales in the Folding Carton industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced PC/computer skills and advanced capabilities with spreadsheet software.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Engineering with 8-10 years experience.  MBA desirable; or compensatory work experience.
