Sr. Benefits Analyst

 

You will be a valued member of the team responsible for the day-to-day operations and administration of Graphic Packaging’s U.S. and Canadian benefit programs, focused on pension and savings plans.  You will coordinate with vendors and auditors, analyze and audit plan data, and utilize your program knowledge to build and refine processes.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Lead day to day activities for U.S. pension and Canadian retirement programs; support day to day U.S. 401(k) programs in collaboration with other members of the benefits team.
  • Partner with plan recordkeepers, payroll, HR Technology, consultants, actuaries and others to ensure that all plans are administered in accordance with plan documents and applicable regulations.
  • Collect and analyze data; conduct regular audits of data, processes and systems to ensure compliance and accuracy; resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Build, refine and document administration processes to improve efficiency and program compliance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, responding to unresolved and escalated complex employee questions and issues.
  • Coordinate compliance activities such as government filings, plan valuations, nondiscrimination testing, plan audits, etc.
  • Support bargaining activities and the implementation of program changes; conduct system testing.
  • Develop and foster positive working relationships with functional teams (e.g., HR partners, Payroll, Labor, Legal, HRIS, HRIT and others).
  • Oversee maintenance and distribution of plan documents, notices and summary plan descriptions.
  • Timely review and submit payments for retirement plan vendor invoices.
  • Support the benefits team on special projects and strategic initiatives.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with at least 6-8 years of experience in 401k plan and pension administration. Large market experience in a complex, bargained environment preferred.
  • Strong benefit knowledge across all types of retirement plans. Experience with Canadian plans is a plus.
  • Knowledge of U.S. federal regulations such as ERISA, PPA, IRC, PBGC, SEC and DOL requirements.
  • Expertise with savings plan recordkeeping systems and experience testing HRIS/payroll systems.  SAP and Dayforce experience are a plus.
  • Experience resolving routine to complex benefits compliance issues. Strong research, analytical, problem solving & project management skills with a focus on building and refining processes.
  • Experience conducting plan audits and nondiscrimination testing.  Excellent Excel skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact with staff, at all levels of the organization, as well as outside professionals and service providers.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently, multi-task and prioritize work on various projects.
  • Ability to influence others in a team environment and drive change with a flexible & adaptive mindset.

Pay Range:   $78,750.00 - $105,000.00
