The mission of this position is to analyze business issues and to identify processes, projects and technologies which will enable significant operational improvements in the corporation’s supply chain and warehouse management functions.  The Analyst formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both business needs and a solid understanding of industry requirements and best practices.  In addition, the Analyst may function as a project team member to work with cross-functional company resources assigned to technology projects.  This position may also assist in routine maintenance for specific modules in the company’s suite of business applications.  This position collaborates with business process owners to foster a positive IT customer relations environment.


Essential Job Functions:

The SAP Business Systems Analyst will learn and be involved in the following functions:


  • Define business systems requirements jointly working with other analyst, management, and business users.
  • Develop working relationships with a diverse group of businesspeople and gain an understanding of the nature of the Company’s business, concentrating on manufacturing and supply chain.
  • Work with users and IT management in setting priorities within the supply chain and manufacturing planning areas.
  • Work with more experienced business systems analysts; participate on project team, completing individual responsibilities, providing input on resources needed, and consulting schedule to ensure timely completion of project and meeting deadlines of project. Familiar with the systems scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member to effectively complete the activities of the work team.
  • Provide support for designated application systems. Augment and facilitate the design, development, implementation of enhancements to existing business systems.
  • Provide guidance in creating standards, testing procedures, version control, etc. Maintain a professional awareness of tools and techniques that might be used to improve the quality of service.
  • Participate in GPI change management process
  • Other duties as assigned

- Project Management

  • Ensures all projects are executed in accordance to established GPI IT PMO governance practices
  • Foster cross-functional relationships inter- and intra-departmentally for effective project management
  • Execute assigned projects and track the completion of major milestones



Educational Requirements:


Background / Experience:

4-year college degree in general or IT-Related field required.  Equivalent work experience considered.


Specialized or technical knowledge:

  • Background and education in SAP software with a specialty in warehouse management or supply chain
  • 1-2 years of relevant SAP experience
  • Project management processes both waterfall and agile
  • Experience/understanding of SAP:
  • Quality management, Transportation management systems (TMS) integration experience would be a plus
    • Warehouse / inventory management process
    • Batch inventory management and processing
    • Shipping process
    • Receiving process
    • WM Master Data (warehouse, bins, picking, put-away, transportation integration)
    • Interaction with master data (Materials, plants)

  • Understanding of business operations and best industry practices

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to translate technical information into language non-technical people will understand
  • Ability to identify deficiencies in technical work and implementation plans, and to identify schedule conflicts
  • Fortitude to demand excellence from self and others
  • Business process mapping and flow-charting expertise
  • Tenacity to set and achieve complex objectives from multiple teams to meet business objective, and to effectively coordinate with cross-functional resources
