Summary

 

As a key memeber of the Americas Division S&OP team the Business Transfer Manager oversees Americas transfers between plants as well as identifies High Risk New Business additions. In this role you will own the management and facilitation of communication between necessary departments and personnel for an efficient transfer of information allowing for immediate production success, timely production to service customer needs, and limiting cost of variance. This position will be located within commuting distance to a Graphic Packaging manufacturing facility.

 

Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

 

  • Lead planned business transfers of finished goods; initiate meetings and conference calls to ensure proper transfer of materials and information. The goal is to seamlessly transfer business enabling the gaining plant to begin production quickly and effectively, without any interruption in quality or service to the customer.
  • Lead the introduction of New Business through the operations process by advising capacity planning managers on plant capabilities and scheduling concerns; coordinates trials and proper integration of new business into the proper plant; gathers all necessary information so the Material Master process runs quickly and smoothly; quick and accurate integration of new business is critical to meeting GPIs sales goals.
  • Responsible for identifying High Risk Business and providing a communication conduit to eliminate costs of variation due to incomplete or erroneous information. Provides recommendations and solutions based on analysis to ensure positive customer relationships that meet GPI’s business objectives.
  • Review plant backlogs and identify bottlenecks or slack production before they occur; initiate business transfers to avoid service issues with our customers and associated costs due to special delivery needs, overtime, and absorption costs due to lack of business.
  • Supports capacity planning with identifying production efficiencies through optimization projects or standalone analysis; initiate production moves internally to achieve cost savings. Included with this function is reviewing board mill trims and using consolidated sizes to reduce inventory by carrying fewer variations of sizes, allowing for quicker inventory turns and lower capital requirements.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously across multiple departments and facilities
  • Demonstrated successful Project Management proficiency
  • Ability to Lead, Direct, and Influence others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of capacity plans, manufacturing schedules, and lean manufacturing processes
  • Track record of inventory control and cost reduction due to increases in manufacturing efficiencies
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in manufacturing
  • Bachelor’s Degree, mechanical or manufacturing preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Process
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office Products
  • SAP experience preferred

Pay Range:   $93,030.00 - $124,005.00
