The goal of the Cloud Engineer at GPI is to manage our company's cloud architecture and position in cloud environments. You will play a strategic role in maintaining all cloud systems including the front-end platforms, servers, storage, automation, security, governance and management networks.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud computing and technology systems, as well as experience designing and transferring applications to the cloud. You should have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills to effectively share your knowledge.

How you will support GPI – Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaption process
  • Regularly evaluate cloud applications, hardware, software and cloud spend
  • Develop and organize cloud systems
  • Work closely with IT security to monitor the company's cloud strategy and privacy
  • Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner
  • Offer guidance in infrastructure movement techniques including bulk application transfers into the cloud
  • Identify the top cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the company
  • Orchestrate/automate cloud-based systems within the company private/public clouds

  • Familiar with SCM (Software Config Management) tools, like Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc
  • Design/deploy/manage cloud-based services, along with implementing of geographically redundant services
  • Documenting and educate internal teams on the deployment/implementation of new and existing cloud-based initiatives, providing training as required

Required Skills

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or relevant field or equivalent experience
  • 8 -10 years' experience designing, executing and supporting IT cloud solutions, with focus on Azure Cloud
  • 5 years with infrastructure as code automation, preferably in a manufacturing environment

 

Key Competencies:

  • Knowledge and experience working with Cisco physical/virtual firewalls, switches, routers, F5/Azure load balancers
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps processes and techniques
  • Experience with API, REST-ful services, JSON, XML
  • Experience working with PaaS Web Apps/Functions, PaaS Endpoints (focus on Azure services & functions)
  • Familiar with SCM (Software Config Management) tools, like Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc
  • Strong networking skills, including networking and internet protocols (TCP-IP/OSI Protocol Model, DNS, HTTP, routing, distributed networks, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends
  • Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated cloud reports to management and other IT development partners
