ROLE SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst III will primarily support the Supply Chain Senior Finance Manager with the month-end close process and assist in monthly forecasting and the annual budgeting process.  Inventory management will also be an area of focus as this role will involve planning and conducting inventory audits across multiple Supply Chain warehouses.  The Financial Analyst III will assist with identifying, analyzing, and interpreting key financial results; developing, implementing and interpreting corporate financial policy; and seeking to continuously improve the planning and reporting process to enhance the broader team’s capabilities.

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: responsibilities include but are not limited to the following

  • Execute month-end close processes including completing journal entries and account reconciliations and P&L and balance sheet management
  • Lead and manage the inventory audit process for Supply Chain warehouses, working directly with third-party managed warehouses and GPI internal/external auditors
  • Assist Supply Chain’s management team to report, monitor, interpret, and project financial and operational results
  • Support projects within/across the Supply Chain function such as cost reduction initiatives, customer negotiation analysis, capital spending projects, cash flow improvement, etc.
  • Generate ad hoc financial models and data analysis. Work directly with other Supply Chain areas as needed to execute projects
  • Improve current business processes to drive more effective and efficient analysis for the business unit finance teams, Supply Chain leadership, and business unit leadership.
  • Provide a source of business knowledge and problem-solving capabilities to assure sound analysis, recommendations and action programs within the centralized Supply Chain organization.

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years experience

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to accuracy and detail required

 

CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Proficient Financial Analysis: Ability to analyze financial data (variance analysis, trends, and cost savings valuations) and an understanding of accounting principles to perform journal entries, account reconciliations, and P&L and balance sheet management for the Supply Chain division. Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in Navigating Finance Systems: Ability to research finance systems and processes. SAP, QlikView, and TM1 experience preferred (not required).
  • Effective Communication with Cross-Functional Business Partners: Ability to work and communicate with all organization levels (including senior leaders); ability to present and explain financial information to non-finance professionals.
  • Great organizational skills and ability to multitask (meet key deadlines)
  • Ability to develop and demonstrate sound business acumen
  • Demonstrates initiative; self-motivated
