As part of the Global Analytics team, the Global Analytics Intern - will be responsible for developing reports, visualizations, and dashboards to drive business value. They will also be responsible for building machine learning models to predict outcomes and create efficiencies.


The mission of this position is to analyze business issues and to identify and develop solutions to meet the needs. The analyst formulates and defines objectives based on both business needs and best practices. This position collaborates with business process owners to foster a positive IT customer relations environment.


 Essential Job Functions:

  • Use Canvass to build Forecasting and Simulations AI/ML models. Determine significant variables and predict outcomes at the Mills and Plants.
  • Implement models and track changes.
  • Gather the business/functional requirements and develop the solutions that meet the business needs
  • Apply critical thinking skills and perform analytics with the goal of solving business problems utilizing the firm's elected analytics and visualization platforms, Qlik Sense
  • Ability to build relationships and leverage subject matter expertise to driving conversations and/or influence decisions/direction with Business and Technology areas
  • Effectively communicate with project team members and sponsors throughout the project lifecycle (status updates, gaps/risks, roadblocks, testing outcomes, etc.)
  • Create work aids to standardize processes on the Global Analytics team.


Experience & Technical Skills Required:

  • 1 years of Qlik Sense Developer experience. Experience with other BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) a plus
  • 1 years of building models in R or Python
  • Ability to analyze model results and explain to business users a course of action
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage all facets of the BI project lifecycle (data exploration, hypothesis testing, code development, testing/validation, deployment, etc.)
  • Ability to build relationships and leverage subject matter expertise to driving conversations and/or influence decisions/direction with Business and Technology areas
  • Strong communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation.



Educational Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college majoring in an IT related field. Equivalent work experience considered

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to translate technical information into language non-technical people will understand
  • Fortitude to demand excellence from self and others
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment.
