MISSION / SUMMARY:

Graphic Packaging is looking for a Global Logistics Analyst to support ongoing growth in the export and import logistics department. This candidate is responsible for collaborating with GPI’s internal and external global customers, freight forwarders, warehouse providers, intermodal providers, and ocean freight liners.  Key responsibilities include analyzing and monitoring day to day operations performance as well as supporting and implementing strategic initiatives to ensure supply continuity. The International Logistics Analyst will thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

 

Trade & Compliance

  • Provides support for Trade and Compliance for Imp-Ex Operations
  • Supports the Audit and compliance across the portfolio to make sure all processes are compliant with respect to local and international laws
  • Documents and strives for export operational excellence. Ensures best practice is being followed among business units, freight forwarders, and warehouses

Vendor Management & Rates

  • Supports ocean freight and dray RFPs, analyzing transit time and costs as well as ocean freight contracts. Assists and participates in vendor discussions in freight negotiations
  • Manage the export rates and invoice process with freight forwarders. Ensuring audit and on-time payment in full to ocean and dray providers
  • Attend logistics provider QBRs and provide operational input and perspective

Analysis and Operations Managements

  • Collaborates with multiple stakeholders throughout the organization (inland warehouse and logistics providers, freight forwarder, demand planning, customers) to ensure on time and in full product delivery. Analyzes End to End process of Order to Delivery for all substrates related to international business
  • Serves as the first line of support and escalation to freight forwarder addressing escalated issues with vendors by providing quick resolution
  • Operational lead for export warehouses and Mexico supply chain
  • Researches and offers optimal transportation modes, routings, equipment, and frequency options to the customer by Analyzing inland transportation options, sailing schedules, and warehouse loading capabilities 
  • Analyzes production schedule and sailing schedules to provide shipping forecast vs allocation 
  • Supports Execution of Monthly targets, oversees operations, mitigates risks
  • Analyze ocean and drayage provider performance and develop standard KPIs and SLAs to measure vendor performance
  • Responsible for handling complaints and claims and resolve in a timely manner

 

Strategy

  • Provides support in capability development Process improvements, Systems & tools for better future
  • Assists in building Analysis, Dashboards, Control towers for International shipments
  • Manages the stakeholder communication and alignment to eliminate noise in the system
  • Encourages actions and behaviors that are innovative, futuristic, and proactive

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 plus years of international logistics experience.
  • Transportation Operations and Supply Chain Management experience
  • International Logistics experience
  • Logistics Management System background with a specific focus on warehousing and ocean freight.

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferred Supply Chain/Business; Masters preferred
  • Negotiating skills; intermediate or advanced Analytical ability (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Tableau)
  • Networking and Relationships Management – Build internal and External Relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organizational agility: know how to get things done in a large company.
  • Strong systems aptitude and proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Advanced computer skills including ERP and TMS applications (e.g., SAP, JDE, etc.) Is a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to implement creative solutions while working under deadlines
