The HR Business Partner Director serves as a strategic partner, trusted advisor, and impactful leader supporting Graphic Packaging’s global functions and leaders.  Reporting to the Vice President of HR, this role is an essential part of the HR team partnering with business leaders to understand the work they do, the challenges they face, and the goals they are working to achieve today and in the future.  The candidate will use that knowledge to guide, challenge and coach functional leaders to ensure they have the talent capabilities needed to drive and support their business objectives for the short and long term, and to support them in leading an engaged workforce.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with executives and senior business leadership to ensure short-term and long-term talent needs are met to drive business strategy forward.
  • Build and leverage relationships with cross-functional teams (e.g., Total Rewards, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Communications) to deliver on high-priority projects and initiatives.
  • Motivate direct reports towards excellence in talent and performance management, employee coaching and efficient ways-of-working that result in positive outcomes throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with the broader HR Business Partner team on talent initiatives and HR related processes.
  • Counsel / coach functional leaders on matters concerning development of their organization to enhance effectiveness and potential. Serve as the first point of contact on performance, compensation and other escalated employee issues in collaboration with the relevant HR Centers of Excellence.
  • Evaluate current organizational design; lead organizational effectiveness initiatives; advise and consult with executive leaders to create and implement organizational changes that improve operational excellence and organizational effectiveness.
  • Identify key talent trends and insights by taking a data-driven approach (e.g., synthesizing HR data and analytics against external best practices) to develop custom strategies and tactics that drive the right business outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with company, federal, state, and local regulations related to employment, compensation, and safety standards and laws

 

Qualifications:

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in the HR function, delivering on enterprise-wide talent initiatives in a national organization with a dynamic workforce.
  • Experience working in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience working within manufacturing, retail or industry with a heavy hourly workforce.
  • Experience partnering with HR Centers of Excellence to advance HR initiatives and measure outcomes for the business.
  • Broad understanding of all HR disciplines including organizational development, employee relations, talent acquisition, learning & development, and compensation.
  • Deep understanding of industry-standard practices, HR strategies, and emerging trends.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and guidelines related to HR and state-to-state differences.
  • Constantly focusing on continuous improvement— both in business and HR matters—to support strategic initiatives and drive business outcomes.

Pay Range:   $164,745.00 - $219,660.00
