Title: Lead Analyst, Procurement Master Data – Materials

Mission:
GPI has embarked on an enterprise-wide multi-year journey to transform data quality, business processes, and enabling technology to support the growth strategy of the organization. As part of the transformation effort, we are in the early stages of building out a formal MDM organization.
The Lead Purchased Materials & Services Master Data Analyst will build and lead a team consisting of direct reports, third party analysts, and satellite GPI data analysts to develop and support sustainable, scalable master data governance/data life cycle across the data domains of purchased materials/services and the related business processes in both SAP and Non-SAP platforms. This team will support prioritized business stakeholder projects and initiatives where P2P data quality is required to achieve desired EBITDA and cash flow improvements.
This role requires previous strategic and tactical data management experience as well as a strong understanding of SAP S4/HANA and/or SAP ECC and the cross functional integration points of enterprise master data in a manufacturing environment.
How you will support GPI:
- Interact as a leader on global, regional and site projects under the direction of the Sr. Manager, Global Master Data Management – P2P
- Directly engage with VP of Supply Chain Procurement, the Procurement Compliance and Operations teams, and IT leadership to build out a robust spend analytics tool; maintaining, updating, and reviewing master data pertinent to the procurement and spend categorization initiatives.
- Lead the material master data team in the transition of European sites to the PRD SAP environment and Radius application as well as other systems conversions and M&A data integrations; transformation of procurement master data, including MRO and raw materials
- Champion the inventory optimization project with the Verusen application, working with mill and plant leadership to drive changes. Perform system administration duties as needed.
- Continuously monitor the state of master data quality as it pertains to the scope and the business outcomes they and their team are aligned to; develop, manage, and report scorecards/metrics/KPIs; address sources of data defects in a timely and sustainable manner
- Utilize innovative and resourceful tactics to harmonize and streamline master data quality processes across the domains of purchased materials and services masters
- Liaison with IT to develop automated solutions for more efficient and effective data governance
- Assist in consolidated reporting into the Global Data Governance Office (GDGO), individually (per direct area of responsibility), but also as a team
- Understand the lineage of master data elements to and from the digital core and engage with the systems administrators in harmonizing master data integrity with the digital core
- Work with the MDM Processes Lead to ensure documentation is maintained for all MDM processes and standards within the P2P domains
- Ensure that P2P data quality process controls align with internal and external security/compliance/audit expectations
- Prepare and perform training and educate the organization on P2P data governance – the why and the requirements
- Lead master data projects
- Manage responsibilities of 3rd party analysts, and directly engage with Supply Chain and IT senior leadership
Education and Background:
- Minimum, bachelor’s in a STEM or other technical degree preferred – Masters a plus – previous in-depth supply chain and or manufacturing experience a preferred/plus
- 8 years of progressive master data experience in both strategic and tactical roles
- Advanced Excel skills – strong SQL, Power BI, Power Query a plus
- Demonstrate data literacy/change management experience - ability to influence others to modify behaviors and provide support for the adoption of data governance policies
- Proven greenfield experience in transforming complex business processes
- Functional understanding of how master data is used across P2P business processes (vendor and purchased materials and services master – raw, maintenance and finishing materials)
- Deep technical and functional understanding of SAP S4/HANA and/or SAP ECC and the master data tables and field structure/usage (MM, PP, PM, FI) – experience governing and integrating Non-SAP master data
- Data conversion/integration experience for systems conversions and M&A’s
- Strong attention to detail; efficiently work with large volumes of data and data related processes
- Previous experience working directly with MDM technologies that enable automated governance of data as well as capture and maintain master data architecture/lineage and metadata management (Informatica, Talend, SAP MDG, SAP Information Steward, SAP Business Objects Data Services, Winshuttle, RPA/AI, Collibra, etc.)
- Solid project management skills to guide data quality improvement and associated technology implementation projects
- Strong written (technical writer level) and verbal communications and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization
- Ability to deconstruct and reconstruct complex business processes and visualize with process flow diagrams
- Commitment and passion to promote the quality and continuous improvement of data assets that deliver desired business outcomes
- Actively advocate for a data-driven culture – be viewed as championing the criticality of MDM
