Job Summary

The IT Systems Engineer, Integration & Support is responsible for managing and supporting IT systems, infrastructure, network, telephony, cloud and various legacy IT systems across multiple folding carton converting sites in the Americas business. This person will be the Single Point of Contact for multiple USA sites. In addition to providing local IT support, the IT Systems Engineer will act as the liaison between designated manufacturing sites and Corporate IT, ensuring manufacturing IT systems run trouble free, timely completion of local & corporate lead projects, delivering quality outputs/results, and anticipating the business needs impacting IT.

The IT Systems Engineer will work closely with business operations, shop floor manufacturing personnel, department managers, applications end users and IT operations management to ensure effective uptime and availability requirements are maintained across multiple carton manufacturing plants. In addition, the position requires a broad level of hands-on experience, not limited to, troubleshooting & interfacing with the enterprise systems, computer/network devises, equipment connectivity, and security, Internet & web-based applications & connectivity, ERP system support, relational databases & connectivity.

Onsite job requires strict safety practices to be followed, requires an understanding of manufacturing processes, experience with IT infrastructure & application best practices and IT standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day activities & troubleshooting of application and infrastructure systems including outside and inside facing security, firewalls, wireless connectivity, and camera networks. Provided support for phone switches and telephones throughout the office and plant as well as paging systems and ADTRAN devices. Additionally, maintain computer rooms, environmental control and UPS’s and place service calls when needed. Provide assistance and support as needed to the Service Delivery and Global Infrastructure Teams, provide application support to end users, database support, remote access support
  • Provide support as needed for shop floor connectivity, manual data collection, semi-automatic data collection and automatic data collection systems on shop floor equipment, application interfaces, operator interfaces.
  • Identify areas and opportunities for improvement in the application and infrastructure landscape for projects in the Americas converting sites
  • Work closely with third party IT Support providers in order efficiently & effectively execute projects, enhancements, upgrades as needed throughout the application lifecycle.
  • Review, and coordinate timely remediation of application incidents as reported by the central service desk and locally by application users
  • Work with management to help identify and plan annual application support and capital projects operating costs.

  • Working knowledge of IT infrastructure and operations, ITIL framework.

Key Experience Requirements:

  • 5 years IT experience and minimum 3 years of experience in or related IT field with network, desktop support, Microsoft Office, O365, security, Zscaler, ServiceNow, ERP Systems, understanding of PLC’s, cloud solutions, Azure, VMware, Veeam, Relational DB’s, SQL Server and other DB platforms, HTTP, ODBC, Active Directory
  • Understanding of process maps, diagrams, models, and/or other process documentation. (ie. Gantt charts, Excel/sheets, and other PM related tools)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent writing, organizational, and communicating skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • Desired networking - Complete understanding of networks and vlans
  • Window Server - Setup, Migration, Support
  • Office365 - Setup, Migration, Support
  • General IT System Admin Experience
