MISSION / SUMMARY:

The Foodservice Manager, Market Development develops and leads tactical marketing initiatives and supports the development and execution of key strategies to improve profit and mix.  The Manager understands and aligns commercial related projects with Sales, Operations and other functional teams across the organization with the intent to exceed customer expectations while demonstrating alignment with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives. 

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

  • Support Sales & Marketing reporting including financial and marketing analysis as well as external customer specific reporting.
  • Support Foodservice related sustainability initiatives including customer programs and communications, legislative regulations and participation with key trade organizations such as Foodservice Packaging Institute, American Forest & Paper Association and Resource Recycling Systems.
  • Manage all aspects of our generic stock offering including product introductions, transitions and aged inventory.
  • Support management and execution of sales/business tools, processes and communication
  • Support sales on customer meeting preparation activities.
  • Manage all aspects of both Industry and Customer trade shows (must be able to travel).
  • Overall management of sample center including such areas as online ordering tool, monthly replenishments and product transitions.
  • Manage and maintain all reference material and reference library
  • Coordinate the responses to new Requests for Proposal (RFP) and on-boarding of new business
  • Manage all online inquiries for the business
  • Oversee all sponsorships and donations for the business
  • Manage our e-marketing platform (ACES, website, JavaStock, etc.).
  • Act as primary resource for ad hoc sales requests such as spec sheets, for example.
  • Assist and support all new product commercialization activities.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years business experience, with strong preference for experience in the Foodservice industry in the areas of marketing and sustainability
    • Demonstrated comprehension of:
    • Strategic thinking
    • Financial analysis
    • Marketing and Sales concepts
    • Supply chain concepts
    • Manufacturing concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage complex and challenging projects
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive and cooperative working relationships with a large and diverse group
  • Desire to stay in the lead on key commercial programs
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams concurrently without missing deadlines and objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to be a fast learner

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced business degree preferred

 

SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with sales and customers.
  • Time management
