Mission:

The Procurement Manager– MRO position requires the development of effective sourcing strategies for the company’s MRO spends for the Mill and Converting divisions as assigned by the Director, Mill Capital, MRO and Manufacturing Services. This position ensures projects are bid and sourced following approved strategy and processes while ensuring availability, service and quality needs are met.  Implements and administers policies, procedures and systems by which the Company’s MRO supply base is managed. Proactively evaluates, identifies and leads meaningful continuous improvement of procurement strategies for assigned spends. 

Outcomes:

  • Achieve year over year cost savings for MRO assigned categories while maintaining surety of supply.
  • Category strategies that are in line with best practices and the overall needs of the business are effectively shared and maintained.
  • Category spend adherence of MRO, Services, and assigned categories.
  • Update and present inflation and savings assumptions for forecasting and strategic planning.
  • Establish KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) for delivered cost, inventory, payment terms and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Evaluate and drive automation of procure to pay processes across assigned categories.
  • Evaluates and analyzes MRO procurement practices and implements Best Demonstrated Practices. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and develop the supply base to ensure availability of quality materials in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Develop and implement competitive category strategies for currently unmanaged spend.
  • Establish criteria and strategy for negotiations with suppliers.
  • Ensure cross functional support of initiatives impacting both Converting and Mill division.
  • Follow the Strategic Procurement Initiative process to drive purchased items towards common specifications and increase supplier competition.
  • Develop cross functional team to drive projects effectively and efficiently across both the Mill and Converting divisions.
  • Lead procurement planning reviews with business unit leadership for assigned categories.
  • Review commodity analyst reports for data integrity and validity of assumptions.
  • Lead implementation of a Supplier Management Program. 
  • Monitor supply/demand activity for key purchases.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to leverage enterprise, regional, and localized spend in the Services category to drive SPI.
  • Drive standardization of sourcing and procurement processes at the local level for Plant Consumables, Bearings and Power Transmission, Fluid Power, and other managed categories.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to Supply Chain finance team regarding SPI and synergy projects, inflationary costs and budget assumptions.
  • Effective and frequent communication regarding project updates to Supply Chain management including routine issues affecting the organization. 
  • Carry out all policies and achieve objectives as directed by the Director, Mill Capital, MRO and Manufacturing Services.

Other Requirements:

  • Must have bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, engineering, finance, accounting, economics, statistics or another related field. 
  • Experience:  Minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement, Operations, or Engineering & Maintenance Management
  • Availability to travel up to 25%
  • Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Expert-level skills in SAP, Microsoft Project, Excel, and Access
  • Significant understanding of ERP systems
  • Detail and multi-task oriented.
