MISSION / SUMMARY:

At Graphic Packaging International, we produce the paper cup that held your coffee this morning and the box you held while eating your favorite snack last night. We are looking for a talented individual to join our Global Marketing Team in a new role! The Marketing Manager-Retail Food & CPG, will support the America's team in creating and implementing marketing strategies for new products and markets. The Marketing Manager will partner closely with the NPD Team Leaders and the Commercial Team Leaders to provide market-based perspectives, tie in customer & consumer input and create meaningful value propositions and marketing plans. The Marketing Manager is excellent at collaboration, ideation, strategic thinking and research. 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

  • Works within and adheres to the company’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork
  • Supports front-end of innovation analysis through the quantification of growth opportunities, bringing strategic direction on “where to play”
  • Conducts market, customer, consumer, and competitor research to gather data and insights for market opportunities
  • Participates as a key team member of the innovation project team and drives projects through the stage-gate process (SOAR)
  • Supports the development of business cases in collaboration with the NPD team for prioritization and planning
  • Supports the sales organization in profitable growth of the whole product portfolio from our wide group is promoted to a specific end-market segment or a specific geography
  • Develops winning value propositions and messaging that resonates with the buying audience
  • Creates new product promotion plan and works closely with the Integrated Marketing Execution team to develop and execute plan in line with overall marketing strategy
  • Other duties as assigned 

DELIVERABLES

  • Complete presentation and supporting analysis to highlight the segment opportunities and includes marketplace evaluation, market sizing assumptions, adoption expectations. Present the information in project reviews and adjust as new information is available and more is known about the new product through the stage-gate process.
  • Conduct market, customer, consumer and competitor research to gather data and insights for market opportunities and presents the information to the key stakeholders for improved understanding and insights
  • Be a key team member of the innovation project team and drives projects through the SOAR process.
  • Play an active role in the collaboration with the sales teams to provide support for the promotion of our total product range
  • Development and implementation of the marketing strategy to enable growth for a specific end-market segment or a specific geography  

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years of strategic marketing experience
  • Broad Marketing experience in innovation, product marketing, branding, marketing research, etc.
  • Previous experience in sales/NPD/Commercial functions desired
  • Retail Food/CPG packaging experience desired
  • Driving results based on a client centric thinking, performance / result-oriented environment
  • Ability to manage and collaborate with multiple stakeholders outside of reporting lines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong relationship, listening, leadership and networking skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • University degree or equivalent in BA, MBA desirable
  • Compensatory closely related work experience required in lieu of degree
  • Willingness to continuously re-skilling and up-skilling, as marketing is a fast-changing discipline

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
