Title:  Mgr., Compliance

MISSION / SUMMARY:

Manage certain compliance efforts including segregation of duties conflicts and associated compensating controls, delegation of authority, certification letter exceptions, and other accounting or compliance reviews that may be assigned.  Assist Director of Compliance and MDM in writing policies and training the finance organization.

 JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed, including resolving segregation of duties conflicts.
  2. Design and implement improvements in communication, monitoring, and enforcement of compliance standards.
  3. Work with cross functional teams to design and implement a new delegation of authority process.
  4. Partner with the finance organization to ensure an understanding of the Certification Process. Redesign, train, monitor and resolve exceptions to corporate policies.
  5. Own segregation of duties matrix and ensure compensating controls are operating effectively throughout multiple systems. Lead the effort to document and test mitigating controls globally.
  6. Work closely with the internal/external independent auditors
  7. Write, maintain, and update company policies and procedures as applicable
  8. Perform other related duties as required

 BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 8-10 years of work experience, which includes working knowledge of internal controls, business processes, general accounting, corporate accounting and reporting, and demonstrated interpersonal skills.

  • Strong internal controls background and SOX experience
  • Ability to learn systems
  • History of problem resolution
  • Self-Starter/Self-Sufficient; work with little direction

 EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA, MBA preferred

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
