MISSION / SUMMARY:

 

Reporting to the Sr., Manager IT PMO, the PMO manager is responsible for managing a team of project managers who provide planning and overseeing of projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Project managers plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way. The PMO manger will work across the business to influence project and stakeholders in across the enterprise. The Manager PMO will work to promote and develop a strong PMO culture within the organization, understand and align business operations and project management. Exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, financial, operational, and cultural objectives.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

  • Experience managing and leading a global team
  • Coaching and developing project managers
  • Review and assess project scope and objectives
  • Forecast resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Experience in developing and improving project management process and methodologies
  • Track project costs in order to meet budget
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedules and work plans
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Travel -10%

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
  • Experience in a large multifaceted environment a plus

 

 

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field
  • 5-8 years of project management and related experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

 

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
