By joining a small tax department, you’ll have the opportunity to be exposed to unique issues across all types of tax.  You will have the opportunity to help drive best practices and efficiencies and leverage new technology as well as manage the relationship with our external property tax advisors. Opportunity exists to expand knowledge base to other areas of tax, if desired.



Reporting directly to the Vice President, Tax & Compliance, the property tax manager is responsible for the Company’s domestic property tax function (real and personal), including compilation, conversion, analytics, compliance and reporting of property taxes.  This position will be directly involved in all aspects of property tax budgeting, forecasting, compliance, variance analysis, and controversy.



  • Proactive management of all aspects of property tax compliance including data gathering (and review) for return preparation, return review and audit defense
  • Develop policies and procedures for managing the property tax compliance function to optimize cross department and business efficiencies.
  • Maintain overall property tax calendar and coordinate deadlines with different internal departments as needed.
  • Manage and direct external property tax advisor in preparation of property tax returns, analyze and provide data needed for return preparation 
  • Gather and review data needed for property tax returns, research new investments and identify discrepancies to ensure returns reflect accurate and complete information.
  • Review property tax filings prepared by external advisors
  • Manage audit risk and create long-term value by reviewing assets, researching positions, obtaining exemptions and improving processes.
  • Assist with the review of real and personal property assessment notices received, pursue appeals and savings opportunities.
  • Work closely with business units and incentives team to project tax impact of potential projects. Assist in evaluating realizability of potential incentive programs during negotiations.  Ensure controllable on-going compliance obligations and filings are met for new and existing incentives.
  • Supervise general ledger review and ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations balance and are consistent with returns filed/payments made and any special issues.
  • Prepare annual budget and monthly forecast of property tax expense based on discussion with various locations and coordination with FP&A.
  • Participate and support M&A activity, including due diligence reviews (supporting external advisor) as requested. Integrate new acquisitions into property tax compliance process.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience with real and personal property tax compliance and audit defense
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage third party service providers and multiple projects to meet deadlines on a continuous basis
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work above and below current level when the need arises
  • Must demonstrate a desire to learn and ability to challenge information and data received to ensure accuracy
  • Must demonstrate ability to work independently, seek solutions, take ownership of various projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus
  • Experience with property tax software (i.e. PTMS), SAP/S4 ERP systems and/or data analytics software such as Alteryx or Tableau is a plus
  • Experience with other indirect taxes is a plus
  • CPA and/or CMI preferred




  • Minimal travel required, but potential need for short duration trips may arise from time to time
  • Hours will vary and could exceed standard 40 hours/week based on the timing of certain deadlines
  • Graphic’s corporate offices currently support a hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days work from home) work arrangement
