Procurement Compliance Specialist

 

MISSION / SUMMARY:

The Procurement Compliance Specialist provides support for efforts designed to ensure critical procurement transactions and controls are performed consistently across the GPI system (plants, mills, corporate, 3PLs, suppliers). 

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in the design and implementation of enterprise internal controls as well as supporting policies, procedures, training and metrics that not only support business requirements, but additionally promote sustainable, efficient and effective business controls and processes. 

 

The position will support desired business outcomes in the areas of improved spend visibility and classification, as well as sustainable working capital improvements and cost savings.

 

JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Work with Manager, Procurement Compliance and cross functional teams to standardize the requisition to receiving procurement processes
  • Assist in integration, development, implementation, and maintenance of requisition to receiving processes and systems training for existing SAP, M&A, 3PLs and system conversion sites
  • Prepare routine requisition to receiving compliance metrics reporting and provide remediation support as needed
  • Disseminate key supply chain information throughout the organization to key stakeholders
  • Participate in routine cross functional procurement roundtable and purchasing internal controls working sessions
  • Support development of the standard processes for requisitions and PO types by category of spend – Manual, MRP, Planned Orders, Blankets, etc.
  • Process and distribute key reports to monitor standardization metrics across the organization (i.e. non-stock versus stock purchasing practices, PO tolerance settings, PO/Goods Receipt variances, etc.)
  • Assist in developing and driving standard goods receiving practices taking into consideration shipping terms with the vendor
  • Respond to requests from GPI Internal and External Auditors
  • Assist with mapping processes, development of sustainability documentation, and creation of training materials for supply chain spend management systems implementations (i.e. contracts, eSourcing, supplier onboarding, supplier performance, spend analytics).
  • Work with Manager, Procurement Compliance, IT, and cross functional teams to identify and drive systemic purchasing controls (i.e. MRP to PO controls, required field inputs, material group code selection).
  • Author and update assigned Guidelines and Training Documentation to align with published GPI Policies.
  • Provide M & A onsite and remote support for systems and operational integration of new GPI Locations.
  • Assume Leadership role for projects as appropriate.
  • Perform other supply chain duties and functions as assigned.BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
  •  
  • 4 years of experience in a complex organization with cross functional collaboration experience. This experience could be obtained in accounting, finance, engineering, supply chain/purchasing/logistics, audit, or IT.
  • Manufacturing experience a plus.EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
  •  
  • Bachelors Degree in a quantitative discipline (supply chain/logistics, accounting, finance, mathematics, engineering, IT) or other equivalent experience required.
  • Microsoft Project Management experience is a plus.
  • Six Sigma certification preferred.SPECIFIC SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES:

  • Must have Intermediate to Advanced SAP requisition to receiving experience.
  • Must have Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Working knowledge of purchasing internal controls and procure to pay transactional flow.
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports and professional communication documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, detail orientation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and communicate to achieve goals.
  • Self-directed continuous improvement mindset, initiative and drive for results.
  • Must be creative, resourceful, organized, and able to work independently as well as a part of a team.
  • Proven ability of coordinating with multiple departments and remote locations to achieve business objectives.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Enjoys and is effective in problem solving and execution.
  • Work involves confidential and sensitive information. Discretion is essential.
