Mission: 

The SBS Business is a 1.5 million annual ton division supporting five major product lines – Folding Carton, Cup Stock, Plate Stock, Aseptic and Liner.

This position is responsible for managing supply planning responsibilities for SBS Paperboard. The successful candidate will be responsible for detailed scheduling, including trimming, sequencing, and sourcing of production schedules, in a centralized environment. The planner will work closely with the master planner, other paper machine supply planners, outsourcing supply planners, account executives and replenishment planners to effectively execute all planning functions at the SBS primary manufacturing locations. The planner and the facility liaison will coordinate facility activities dependent on the schedule, such as, secondary scheduling, make-ups, alternate sourcing and load planning.

 Essential Job Functions: 

  • Understand downstream and upstream dependencies, i.e., production processes, load planning, transportation planning.
  • Mange block schedules to optimize dates and meet customer commitments
  • Work closely with the remote facility to learn and understand the manufacturing processes and help facilitate scheduling changes for smooth transitions
  • Understand the stock and MTO process and support domestic customer service teams
  • Fully master SAP planning processes
  • Translate the master plan into machine schedules.
  • Monitor and correct imbalances to ensure schedule accuracy.
  • Work with sales and customer service to manage customer allocations.
  • Manage alerts associated with roll supply between the primary mills and remote sheeting locations to meet production schedules.
  • Lead, support and participate in project work as available to further personal development and exposure to other parts of GPI.

Background and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in scheduling, trimming, supply planning, or related field.
  • Familiar with end-to-end supply chain concepts.
  • Ability to present self in a professional manner, take initiative to get the job done
  • Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn & master SAP & Greycon software
