The Foodservice Sales Manager is responsible for driving overall commercial results for the territory, driving profitable sales growth while maintaining & expanding customer relationships.  Key deliverables will include achieving terrority sales and profitability goals, driving share and new product business growth, and ensuring key business metrics are achieved such as sales forecast accuracy, accounts receivables, management of aged inventory, and implementation of pricing changes.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Must work within and adhere to the company’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.
  • Provides overall leadership to a team of sales executives, driving team engagement and development, assessing resource and staffing needs to support territory growth
  • Selects and develops distributors, dealers, brokers and other outlets for company products and services
  • Works collaboratively with marketing, supply chain, and manufacturing to develop effective distribution, inventory systems, and commercial programs to meet customer needs and drive business results
  • Generate business ideas and implement new programs that improve GPI’s profitability
  • Prepares and cooperates in the preparation of sales forecasts and in the development of projected selling expense budgets
  • Recommends improvements in existing products or product mix to meet competitive products
  • Maintain a significant market or customer knowledge to allow GPI to gain an understanding of potential changes
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in converting, preferably in the Foodservice Industry

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field or MBA preferred
  • Other degrees of study are applicable with relevant work experience

 

SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of converting industry.
  • Must be a market and/or customer expert.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills.

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Frequent overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail will be required. (up to 40%-50%, depending on customer needs).

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
