Ideally the position will be based in the Midwest and within commuting distance to a GPI facility.

 

Sales Manager 

The Sales Manager is responsible for managing a significant portion of sustaining business and ensuring that accounts receivables, aged inventory and pricing is managed to the benefit of Graphic Packaging International (GPI). Works under minimal supervision.

Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

  • Sell new business to assigned accounts with assigned representatives in line with GPI’s strategy and business objectives and goals.
  • Implement the strategic direction of GPI at assigned accounts.
  • Manages major contracts with assigned accounts and ensures compliance with corporate policies and objectives.
  • Integrate customer’s needs into GPI’s operational capabilities using a combined profit plan that benefits both the customer and GPI.
  • Generate business ideas that lead to business deals.
  • Implementation of new programs that improve GPI’s profitability.
  • Conducts long-range studies of changes in account sales and servicing strategies. Develops long-range programs to meet customer needs.
  • Reviews assigned account procurement systems and distribution needs.
  • Assists marketing and distribution management to study and develop effective distribution and inventory systems and procedures to service assigned accounts.
  • Selects and develops distributors, dealers, brokers and other outlets for company products and services.
  • Prepares and cooperates in the preparation of sales forecasts and in the development of projected selling expense budgets.
  • Recommends improvements in existing products or product mix to meet competitive products.
  • Maintain a significant market or customer knowledge to allow GPI to gain an understanding of potential changes.
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Skills

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing or related field and at least 3-5 years sales experience in preferably a manufacturing/folding carton environment.
