MISSION / SUMMARY:

 

The dedicated Associate Manager, Physical Security is an armed security position and will be responsible for developing, overseeing, and continuously improving our security team at the GPI headquarters in Atlanta.  They will maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, customers and visitors. This is a highly visible role and it must develop relationships with all levels of the organization and be prepared to provide solutions to stakeholders in a timely and professional manner. The person should be practical, proactive, and innovative, to ensure location security objectives and industry best practices are communicated and executed.

 

Key Responsibilities and Job Functions: Primary job functions include, but are not limited to the following:  

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the security operations team
  • Respond to unusual or emergency situations using appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response as dictated by the situation and protocol
  • Preserve order and may act to enforce rules pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises; control access to facility through the admittance process; responsive in all situations; monitors entrances and exits and acts to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry
  • Respond to security incidents, investigations, and implementing corrective action
  • Act as a liaison with outside agencies (fire, emergency medical, police, FBI, etc.)
  • Demonstrate a courteous, respectful, and pleasant interaction with employees and visitors; presents a good image of the company
  • Provide security at special events (e.g., Board Meetings)
  • Patrol assigned site on foot or in vehicle, checks for unsafe conditions such as hazards, unlocked doors, and security violations; protects evidence or scenes of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations; prepares logs or reports as requested
  • Respond to incidents and communicate to the right stakeholders with the appropriate level of urgency (i.e., fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, workplace violence and other incidents)
  • Support Human Resources and/or Legal Department as needed with sensitive and confidential projects and employee relation activities
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Background:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in law enforcement, Criminal Justice, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years law enforcement
  • 3+ years of leading people
  • Relevant certifications in Law Enforcement, Georgia Post Certified, Blue Card
  • Authorized to carry authorized weapons and ammunition, the use of protective gear and devices
  • Experience in managing and implementing building Emergency Action Plan
  • Other certification (ex. ASIS Certification CPP/PSP, Certified Business Continuity Professional etc.)

 

Required Skills:

  • Familiarity with video surveillance system/equipment 
  • Leadership experience with the ability to effectively coach and mentor others
  • Strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must demonstrate the ability to deal with confidential company matters
  • Knowledge with Microsoft programs (excel, word, PowerPoint)

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment
  • Occasional weekend hours

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8+hours
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices

Pay Range:   $71,625.00 - $95,500.00
