Specialist, Accounting, Americas 

As an Accounting Specialist for the Americas Converting Division, you will be responsible for preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processes and requirements in accordance with GAAP. This includes preparing journal entries as needed, reconciling reports and financial data, reviewing balance sheet account reconciliations, and assisting with the monthly close process.  

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an Accounting role with 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment and will prepare financial reporting to ensure we meet our business objectives. This position provides an opportunity to support certain accounting processes and help generate superior business results within the largest division, with over 50 converting plants in the Americas. 

 

Position Scope:

Key processes include supporting month end close, balance sheet reconciliations (including but not limited to general ledger accounting, intercompany, rebates and inventory) and providing general accounting support for the business unit. Responsibilities also include: supporting the analysis and evaluation of the Americas monthly operating results and providing routine financial metrics as requested.  This role will provide primary support to the field for all accounting and compliance related activities.  This role will also act as liaison with corporate accounting. 

 

Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

  • Complete the accounting and monthly close process for assigned functions and activities including Balance Sheet reviews and P&L statements
  • Support and evaluate the sales & COGS allocation process within the Americas
  • Review and prepare account re-classes entries, inventory validation, central reconciliations and intercompany  
  • Develop improvements for existing accounting and month end close processes
  • Work directly with the AMC revenue management team to review the liabilities related to customer rebates and incentives (signing bonuses, masked pricing, etc.)
  • Support SOX compliance for the region and provide a high level of support for audits of critical processes
  • Proactively assist company external auditors and internal auditors, as needed, to ensure an efficient and effective audit process
  • Provide training and back up support for Plant Controllers in the Americas Division, as needed
  • All other duties as assigned 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced Accounting degree (plus)
  • CPA designation or CPA candidate
  • Minimum 3-5 years in an Accounting role
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office Suite tools.
  • ERP systems experience required; SAP preferred
  • Ability to research accounting issues and identify solutions and impacts to the business unit
