Mission:

The Sr. Director of Data Analytics & Business Intelligence for Graphic Packaging will set the strategic vision for modernizing our data analytics capabilities and execute the plan to achieve business goals, leveraging modern technology and tools.

The successful candidate will inventory current set of tools, technologies and capabilities, partner with IT, teams, business leadership and enterprise architecture to create a strategic vision to move from predominantly rear-view facing reporting to more predictive analytics and insights capable of driving margin expansion, incremental sales growth and driving business productivity. This leader will be responsible for simplifying the current BI & reporting footprint, creating a Big Data environment that will enable predictive analytics and help develop citizen data science capabilities globally.

           

Key Responsibilities:

  • Baseline current set of tools, technologies and capabilities in the BI and reporting space
  • Identify gaps in business analytics and work to fill them through new tools and technologies by sourcing and developing externally across peer networks, startups, market research, etc.
  • Collaborate with business and IT leaders to ensure that guidelines, policies, standards, and hierarchies are created and adhered to when evolving into the future state
  • Partner with the technology transformation leader to deliver critical reporting solutions identified in the transformation roadmap and simplify the data, reporting and analytics landscape
  • Establish best practice methods to track and measure progress against data management objectives such as data domains, data elements, data issues, working closely with data transformation leads
  • Build data science and modeling capabilities and create a cloud based Big Data environment that can harness financial, operational and machine data for business advantage
  • Continue the evolution of citizen data science capabilities, allowing business teams to pull together data from disparate sources and find correlations and insights for operational productivity and financial benefits.
  • Manage, mentor and coach the team to deliver on business insights and analytics
  • Management of the Analytics team, including goal setting and performance reviews. 
  • Compile & manage the annual LRP and OPEX budgets for this team.
  • Regularly prepare management reports and participate in Steering Committee meetings as required.
  • Participate in M&A work to integrate acquired business into the GPI technology stack
  • Work with internal audit, external audit, and GPI management for Change Control, SOX and ITGC controls
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in information management, data science/analytics or similar fields and 15 years of overall experience working with data and information management tools.
  • Minimum of 5 years leading global data and analytics teams in manufacturing domain
  • Knowledge of industry leading ETL tools and practices required
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing enterprise data warehousing
  • Knowledge of data visualization and industry leading tools
  • Knowledge of master data management processes and requirements as it relates to data and analytics
  • Must have strong knowledge of modern data cataloging tools, Big Data environments, cloud based Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning platforms and practical experience creating such environments and delivering on business ROI.
  • Demonstrated competency in delivering business insights and results leveraging predictive analytics tools, algorithms, models with an AI/ML focus
