Title: Sr Manager Information Technology

Reporting directly to the Vice President–IT Americas, the Manager–IT Business Systems is responsible for managing the relationship and effectiveness of overall IT services delivery to support one of the key business units within Graphic Packaging International. The role ensures that the IT portfolio of key initiatives enables business strategy and achievement of objectives through successful, consistent, and predictable delivery of programs, projects and applications. The position partners closely with the business unit leadership team and subject matter experts, has substantial understanding of manufacturing and general business processes. The Manager is aware of the evolution of IT technologies, and considers the overall IT enterprise, business division, and company objective and strategies set by the senior leadership teams. The role proactively identifies value-addition areas to apply IT for new business opportunities, process improvement, and cost efficiencies. Provides insight to the business units on how to best develop and leverage IT capabilities for the organization. Serves as primary point-of-contact for the business unit for overall IT needs. Responsible for prioritizing demand and for coordinating activity to support business needs (IT strategies, projects, key requests, support effectiveness, escalation when necessary) with IT workstreams to execute. Works closely with IT leadership of all relevant, functional areas to accomplish the core duties of the position.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Principal Duties and Responsibilities: five to eight key responsibilities/activities for which the position is accountable:
- Consult closely with the business unit management teams to support plans and objectives through the identification, evaluation, and prioritization of opportunities to leverage the Company’s IT investments. The position will also work with the business unit to improve processes, controls, and business system capabilities, etc. through improved utilization of information management and management-coordination across key IT workstreams. With the senior IT and business leadership teams, works to develop and manage a strategic and holistic IT-business plans to utilize and develop actionable information in support of business unit objectives and strategies.
- Oversee the progress of GPI project and PMO intake and stage-gate functions and monitor programs and project performance in alignment with the Corporate IT policies and standards. For this purpose, position holder works closely with IT workstream owner leads to initiate, guide, organize, and coordinate activities in GPI in the information management area including decisions regarding resource management and allocation, project planning and control, quality assurance, employee development and personnel issues.
- Tracks, monitors, and provides regular updates on key IT-business unit initiatives including barriers, or issues.
- Initiates, leads and participates in projects on a corporate and business unit level which are aimed at internal IT landscape development and improvements.
- Regularly prepares management reports and participates in key steering committee meetings as required.
- Works with IT and business unit leadership to ensure annual long range plans and supporting capital and operating budgets are identified and established.
- Adheres to company PMO and IT general control policy and procedures.
- When required, works closely with the IT merger and acquisition projects to co-manage the effective integration of acquired business unit landscapes into the GPI standard technology stack and support services.
- Works with internal audit, external audit, and GPI management for both SOX and ITGC controls for regional business systems to ensure compliance.
- Plans, manages, and provides strategic direction for technology planning and decision making to support regional GPI business processes needs across multiple platforms working closely with platform owners.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: List minimum level of education, special training, certifications, or technical skills/experience required for this position.
- Expert knowledge with at least 7 years experience in IT management.
- 5 or more years experience with Enterprise-class applications. Extensive experience as a business unit manager may also be considered. Experience with ERP implementations and management is a plus.
- Substantial knowledge of business functions, processes and supporting technology in an industrial company.
- Position holder is experienced in information and data management, logistics and business/process improvement. Has excellent communication abilities, including executive level communications, and is experienced with project management and leading matrix-based teams including internal and external stakeholders.

- BS/BA degree from an accredited university in Information Technology or Information Technology Management is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Demonstrated ability to work with business executives to develop, successfully implement and support business solutions that meet business unit requirements and support overall business executives
- Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing and related systems environments including a general but effective understanding of sales, production, financial, and distribution strategies and objectives.
- Demonstrated understanding of industrial, food service, or consumer packaged goods related manufacturing IT technology including a basic understanding of the infrastructure and understanding of the types of software used to run manufacturing business processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex business initiatives staffed with internal IT, contract and business unit resources. Has experience in both the technical and organizational change management components of projects. Understands and promotes standardized project methodologies, practices and standards as guided by the company’s PMO.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Understands how to communicate in various circumstances and with varied audiences including executive levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage direct-report employees including skills development, career development and performance management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage matrix-based teams involving IT department leads, and business department leads.
- Up to 20% travel may be required.
POSITION OUTCOMES:
- Establish or join existing business unit-IT leadership forums to discuss and understand key objectives large and small.
- Identify project and resource needs to enable business unit objectives.
- Co-prioritize portfolio of business unit needs and initiatives.
- Identify and create direct employee goals, performance tracking, and continuous employee development plans and growth.
- Train and comply with corporate IT company policy and procedure requirements to fulfill duties such as PMO, IT purchasing, IT Audit/Controls, IT communications, and others.
- Participate in the development of GPI IT long range plans and related budgets.
- Participate in key business unit and joint business unit-IT leadership and department meetings as primary IT- leadership liaison point of contact.
- Work closely with IT-VP Americas in developing and managing-to-plan the key needs of the business unit.
- Work closely with the business unit leadership and IT leadership to develop and present effective business cases for IT based initiatives.
