MISSION / SUMMARY :

 

This position will provide leadership and direction on compliance program priorities by driving accountability and responsibility through matrixed global compliance and legal teams, while integrating compliance into the business.  This includes providing continuous direction on the global compliance program and risk environment through a data-driven approach, including monitoring, testing and reporting results of the compliance program and providing guidance on key improvement opportunity areas.  The role will partner with global and regional risk owners to ensure programs meet global standards in areas such as risk assessments, training, and mitigation.  A key role will be the enablement and implementation of technology driving efficiency and effectiveness by providing employees with simple and proactive resources that build awareness and knowledge.  Work closely with the Compliance Officer, General Counsel, and EVP, HR to provide executive reports, including to the Board, that highlight global compliance program initiatives, priorities, and key performance indicators.  

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES are, but not limited to the following

  • Facilitating administration of GPI’s Global compliance policies and procedures in order to comply with regulatory and ethical standards including accessibility to employees and ease of understanding and use. This includes reviewing compliance documents and policies across the company and the implementation of automated tools to ease the organization’s burdens to manage policies.  
  • Facilitating preparation of a compliance office annual plan and multi-year roadmap for the function.
  • Understanding key program opportunities, design programs, and implement solutions in areas such as Policy on Policies, Policy Reviews and structure, investigative/whistleblower procedures, Records Management, Data Protection, Training, Communications, etc.
  • Supporting and implementing the development of an organizational compliance structure/team and liaison/champion/network structure in the business units, jurisdictions, and functional groups to manage and oversee compliance.
  • Analyzing compliance data to recognize trends, actions needed, and facilitate reporting. 
  • Implementing automation and tools where possible to reduce effort and disruption while improving reporting, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Collaborating and building partnerships with multiple business units and functional groups. Working closely with the compliance officer and other senior executives.
  • Providing post-acquisition support by assisting with the integration of acquired businesses into the overall compliance program.
  • Assisting with facilitation and administration of the Compliance & Risk Committee, Management Reporting, Board Reporting, and the general GPI compliance and ethics program.
  • Assisting with development of a regulatory monitoring capability and creating and reviewing regulatory compliance documentation including coordinating the creation, review and implementation of policies and procedures resulting from new laws and regulations.

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience in regulatory commercial compliance areas such as compliance management, risk management, accounting compliance, regulatory compliance, or similar. A demonstrated background in statistical, analytical and organizational skills is key and experience implementing and supporting compliance programs.
  • Undergraduate degree in law, legal studies, business, international business, compliance, enterprise risk management, management, economics, finance or accounting is expected. Advanced degree (preferred).
  • Strong written/verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills demonstrating a consistent attention to detail.
  • Solid organization and workflow skills and bringing projects to successful and timely completion with a focus on high standards and quality.
  • Experienced with an approach to problem solving, research, and interpretation applying legal subjects to a business process/situation.
  • Data analytics skills, utilizing data and transactions to identify errors and provide business insights, strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: anticorruption, antitrust, privacy, third-party risk management, enterprise risk management, human rights, records management, data protection, codes of conduct, procurement or other regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment experiencing rapid growth and change.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple departments and remote locations to achieve business objectives.
  • Ability to interpret and/or apply policies and regulatory requirements to company operations and translate information into understandable compliance guidance.
  • Ability to prepare and/or review compliance and regulatory documents and reports.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement and administer complex compliance plans and processes.
  • Manufacturing or industrial experience (preferred).
  • A professional certification in the field of compliance, risk or audit is preferred. Certification(s): Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP, CCEP-I), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Leadership Professional in Ethics and Compliance (LPEC), Certified Compliance Professional (CCP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) (preferred).
  • Familiarity with compliance tools (One Trust, Audit Board, Data Analytics exposure) (preferred).
