Role Description:

The Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Process Improvement and Project Management will provide leadership in identifying and driving continuous improvements, standardization, and alignment of supply chain processes and systems. Responsibilities include developing and implementing improved sustainable processes related to systems and process change implementations. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Supply Chain Planning and Customer Care.

A successful candidate will drive results by influencing a broad group of internal stakeholders and holding them accountable to executing projects that deliver tangible benefits in EBITDA, Revenue, and Working Capital.  This role will help to define future state processes and will provide thought leadership using lean tools like Value-stream mapping to identify pinch-points to flow and pain points that when addressed will unlock savings, growth, or working capital benefits. The position will interact cross functionally at both the corporate and operations levels of the organization. A strong understanding and appreciation for interdependencies across the supply chain is imperative in this role. Finally, excellent learning agility is essential to quickly grasp underlying issues and potential solutions.

JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Understanding of key internal and external customer requirements especially in the areas of Logistics, Procurement, Customer Care and Planning.
  • Leads teams to outline current state processes and define future state processes.
  • Leads teams on project plans that deliver the future state and the projected benefits.
  • Leads external consultants and software vendors where required to deliver on tool improvements necessary to facilitate future state processes.
  • Collaborates with the IT business liaison on understanding technology solutions on the market and helps lead the selection process.
  • Leads efforts to standardize and document training and certification programs to make new processes and solutions sustainable.
  • Demonstrates and fosters initiative in identifying, analyzing, and delivering supply chain cost savings and working capital benefits. Become subject matter expert in conducting cost savings ideation and scoping exercises with cross-functional groups.
  • Knowledge of ERP, MRP, and other tools with direct experience in SAP.
  • Leads teams on key Supply Chain Footprint Optimization projects from business case generation through to operational control

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years of experience driving cross functional process improvement and project management from both a strategic and tactical perspective in supply chain, purchasing, and/or logistics (systems implementations, process alignment, documentation including process mapping, training, M&A integration, analysis and reporting related to cost savings and working capital improvement initiatives)
  • Influence without direct authority—this role will have senior level sponsorship for chosen projects, but will need to influence a broad group of stakeholders across multiple functions to drive successful projects that deliver tangible benefits. Must have proven experience in doing this.
  • Direct working knowledge of manufacturing business processes and systems
  • Must have excellent analytical and critical thinking skills – ability to aggregate information from multiple sources efficiently and accurately to support business inquiries and decision making – works well with data to draw business conclusions
  • Effective management skills, including planning and decision-making, identifying priorities and bringing projects to successful completion in a timely manner; and maintaining a focus on high standards and quality
  • Demonstrated ability to implement creative solutions. Resourceful, takes initiative and is self-directed. 
  • Previous supervisory experience. Puts team before self-interests and inspires others to lead in their roles.
  • Extensive project management experience and utilization of relative tools
  • Strong ability to influence without direct authority
  • Enjoys leading, problem solving and execution

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelors Degree in a quantitative discipline (supply chain/logistics, accounting, finance, engineering, IT) required
  • Masters Degree preferred
  • Six sigma and PMP certification preferred

OTHER:

  • Flexibility to travel up to 25%
