Title:  Assistant Superintendent II-Power & Recovery

The Asst. Superintendent will be responsible for safe and stable operation of a 6.4 MMlb/day Recovery Boiler and 3 sets of evaporators (EV1 & EV2 LTV and EV3 Falling Film) and their supporting subsystems including liquor storage, soap handling, and soda make up opportunities.

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.
• Exhibiting safety leadership and encouraging safety engagement
• Ensuring 100% environmental compliance
• Ensuring 100% compliance to State, insurance and company operating regulations
• Working with Power Supervisor to engage crews in CLIPS, LOC, and safety improvements
• Supporting crew training, blended learning, and certification activities
• Setting daily, weekly and monthly operations priorities.
• Monitoring process health while meeting daily, weekly, and monthly operational targets through centerlining and key performance indicators (KPI’s)
• Working with Manufacturing Excellence (ME) organization and process engineering to implement sustainable cost reduction projects
• Working with the reliability and process control organizations to implement sustainable reliability and operation improvement projects
• Support Major outage planning and execution activities

• BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience
• 5 plus years of relevant power maintenance or operations management experience
• Thorough knowledge of Recovery Boiler and Evaporator systems, concepts, and application
• Demonstrated leadership
