OPPORTUNITY: We are a folding carton manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join the Augusta Mill as an Entry Level Production Laborer. The Entry Level Production Worker will be responsible for the operation of various mill production equipment, general housekeeping tasks, reading tape measures / gauges and other test equipment, following directions, ensuring quality and monitoring the process to produce quality products. This position is responsible for making equipment adjustments, cleaning the equipment/ facility, and performing other designated tasks in a safe and efficient manner in accordance to the standard operating procedures (SOP). They understand and align business operations and their assigned department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.


JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and other associates
  • Notify supervisor, maintenance, or quality immediately when a problem occurs with the equipment as well as follow all company rules and procedures
  • Assists crew members with housekeeping and general production tasks
  • Operates Forklift and/or Bobcat to retrieve supplies and move product
  • Monitor and make adjustment to the equipment, including visual checks jams and other malfunctions
  • Notify supervisor, maintenance, or quality immediately when a problem occurs with the equipment as well as follow all company rules and procedures
  • Maintains all documentation of daily and monthly rounds in accordance with the current SOP’s
  • Communicate with operators, prior/next shift, of pertinent quality and production concerns.

Required Skills


  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred 
  • Previous experience with industrial machine operation preferred
  • Previous forklift experience strongly desired
  • Experience inputting data into computers a plus


  • Commitment to safety and quality
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing practices and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Basic mechanical ability to make adjustment to the equipment to maximize production and ensure quality standards are met or exceeded.
  • Ability to learn through self-directed study and desire for advancement
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Maintains cooperative working relationships, demonstrates a positive attitude and consideration towards fellow employees and supervision.



  • High school diploma or GED



  • Overtime is expected.
  • Schedules are up to 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off.  However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
    • 4 straight days of “day” shift (6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.) 7 days off
    • 4 straight days of “night” shift (6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.) 3 days off
    • 3 straight days of “day” shift (6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.) 1 day off
    • 3 straight days of “night” shift (6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.) 3 days off
    • Employees will be required to change shifts and work off days if necessary.  
  • Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification
  • Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis

Required Experience


  • Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.
  • Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Work in areas of fluctuating temperature.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (hard hat, earplugs, steel-toed boots, safety glasses at a minimum)
  • Ability to operate or work in industrial conditions - may be warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces (with proper safety training and safety protection)
  • Frequent walking, bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, and climbing.
  • Ability to move wrists, hands, and/or fingers to turn valves and make adjustments to equipment.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in high places.
