Electrical and Instrumentation Journeyman

OPPORTUNITY: We are a folding carton manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join the Augusta Mill as an Electrical and Instrumentation Journeyman (J1/J3). The Electrical and Instrumentation Journeyman (J1/J3) starting a rate of pay is $32.48 - $39.76. JOB SUMMARY: We currently have openings for an Electrical and Instrumentation Journeyman candidate who has a passion for safety, is a self-starter, takes initiative, can communicate effectively, and can work independently in a manufacturing environment. This position performs Electrical & Instrumentation troubleshooting in a heavy industrial environment. Specific skills necessary include calibration, troubleshooting, proper repair, precision installation, successful start-up, and reliability of all related facility equipment.
Required Skills
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.
- Commitment to safety and quality
- Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
- Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification
- Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
- Ability to learn through self-directed study and desire for advancement
- Wear required personal protective equipment (hard hat, earplugs, steel-toed boots, safety glasses at a minimum)
- Operate or work in industrial conditions - may be warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces (with proper safety training and safety protection)
- Excellent attendance record with flexibility to work rotating shifts & overtime
- The ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, and climbing.
- Ability to move wrists, hands, and/or fingers to turn valves and make adjustments to equipment.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in high places.
- Maintains cooperative working relationships, demonstrates a positive attitude and consideration towards fellow employees and supervision.
- Performs all duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision.

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Journeyman skill level experience in instrumentation and industrial electrical systems.
- Experience in electrical and pneumatic process controls (transmitters, control valves, DCS equipment, programmable logic controllers, recorders, etc.)
- Experience with three phase motors and controls, lighting, AC and DC drives is also required
- Computer literacy in software applications for control systems and troubleshooting.
- Pulp and Paper industry experience a definite plus.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
