Accounting Lead



The selected candidate will be assigned to the Finance Team at the Augusta Georgia Paper Mill.  This position requires daily interaction with mill operations, procurement, corporate personnel and suppliers.  This position is primarily responsible for receiving raw materials into the company’s financial and reporting system.


JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include the following:

  • Managing raw material receipts
  • Reconcile and maintain records for materials delivered
  • Review/analyze key performance measures and variances
  • Monthly reporting and communication of financial performance against targets
  • Accurate and timely reporting
  • Ensuring compliance of internal controls
  • Provide vendor support to maintain timely processing of invoices and invoice audits.



Required Skills


  • General schedule is 8-hours M-F assignment.  Employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends.  Occasional overnight travel.



  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours; Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.

Required Experience


  • 3 years’ experience in accounting using SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system



  • Education – Associates Degree in Finance or Accounting or related experience  
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others
  • Proficient using spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Excel)
  • Industrial or manufacturing process knowledge preferred
  • Experience working with financial analyses (variance reporting, budgeting and forecasting)
