Title:  Payroll Coordinator

MISSION / SUMMARY:

The Sr. HR Administrator will provide best-in-class expertise to fully support the Augusta Mill HR function.

 

JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • This position reports to the Human Resources Supervisor.  Its purpose is to provide Human Resources leadership and assist in the management of the Human Resources function for a, unionized (USW), paperboard mill in Augusta, GA
  • Coordination of hourly interview candidates including working with the LA Workforce in posting hourly vacancies, scheduling interviews, managing the contingency process and communicating results to the successful candidates.
  • Provide benefits summary overview with salaried applicants.
  • Manage the on-boarding activities for new employees including, set-up of email address, ordering CPU/cell phones, completing all new hire paperwork and managing/maintaining of the new-hire orientation process.
  • Manage the personnel records for all salaried employees.
  • Assist in the completion of the Affirmative Action Plan and tracking for the mill.
  • Manage a variety of projects and assist with other HR related record keeping, compliance and operational functions such as assisting with the head count and organizational charts.
  • Maintain an accurate audit and processes payments for premiums presented by employees on leave.
  • Must have strong knowledge of the state, federal, and company policies and union contact language and be able to assist the HR Manager and Supervisor with these policies.
  • Responsible for 5S in the office areas, meeting rooms, etc.
  • Works as a team player to assure that all aspects of the Human Resources Department is handled in a timely manner and professionally.
  • Processes required HR documents for hires, internal promotions and terminations.
  • Assisting in the process and transmission of weekly payroll for all hourly employees.
  • Compiling payroll data (hours worked, taxed, insurance, etc) from time system (ADP) and other records.
  • Screening time-worked reports for calculating, coding or other errors.
  • Performing actions necessary to determine pay and deductions (Federal and State taxes, insurance,
  • Recording changes affecting net pay (exemptions, insurance coverage, loan payments) for each employee to update master records.
  • Assisting the department in carrying out various HR programs and procedures for all employees
  • Preparing and maintaining all employee personnel and payroll files to assure accuracy, compliance and confidentiality.
  • Oversee the Mill attendance policy including reconciling reports twice weekly and managing the attendance database.
  • Assisting with HR-sponsored employee events and meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years of demonstrated performance in a fast paced human resources support role. Proficiency in MS Office software. SAP experience is highly preferred.

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • High School diploma of equivalent required.
  • BS Degree, preferred
