The Superintendent – Power and Recovery position is a leadership role and is responsible for the safe and stable operation of the Augusta Mill Power and recovery operation.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of department work systems, procedures, training and certifications.
  • Four Shift Supervisors and 50 Operators
  • Exhibiting safety leadership and encouraging safety engagement
  • Ensuring 100% environmental compliance
  • Ensuring 100% compliance to State, insurance and company operating regulations
  • Maximizing crew engagement through 5s and safety improvements
  • Continuously improving crew training, blended learning, and certification activities
  • Meeting 3PQP expectations
  • Establishing, sustaining, and improving work systems essential to ensuring Power Plant reliability and sustainability
  • Monitoring overall Power and Recovery process health
  • Working with Manufacturing excellence (ME) organization and process engineering to implement sustainable cost reduction projects
  • Working with Reliability organization and process control implement sustainable reliability improvement projects
  • Support Major outage planning and execution activities

Qualifications include:

  • BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience
  • Five plus years of relevant power maintenance or operations management experience
  • Area Process Manager experience (Preferably in both maintenance and production)
  • Thorough knowledge of Power and Recovery systems, concepts and application
  • Demonstrated leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to create and sustain change
  • Demonstrated ability to engage a work force
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proactive problem solver
