JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Responsible for direct supervision of production crew utilizing competencies of successful first line leader (see competencies below).
  • Provide for development and implementation of training for direct reports.
  • Responsible for safe work environment, including conducting monthly safety meetings, observations and correcting unsafe behaviors and conditions.
  • Encourages and motivates crew members to complete on-shift safe behavior observations.
  • Provide documentation/record keeping for training and qualifications.
  • Assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions.
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding established production and quality goals.
  • Audit work systems to ensure consistent operation (rounds, logs, check sheets, inspection procedures, TCC’s etc.)
  • Increase crew engagement
  • Direct maintenance tasks to be completed on shift.
  • Effective communication and production planning between departments.
  • Annual outage support and routine outage support.
  • Conducting one-to-ones with direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:    

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 5 years of paper industry experience
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequent, bending, stooping, squatting, as well as frequent movement throughout the facility for extended periods of time up to 12-hour
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office, hand tools or electrical equipment
  • Employee is required to wear steel toe shoes, safety glasses and hearing protecting when in the manufacturing area.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles and times of increased heat and humidity.
  • The noise level in the immediate work environment is normally quiet, however requires exposure to a noisy manufacturing environment.
