This position is responsible for coordinating the plant functions for production scheduling to ensure the efficient and on-line delivers for customer demand. Organizes and executes scheduling and capacity planning processes for various product lines and equipment.
Job Functions:
- Coordinates the tasks of planners in scheduling of all machines, processes and production activities within the plant.
- Coordinates information flow to the operating departments via production schedules and daily communications.
- Process orders and create schedule for equipment.
- Updates daily schedule to balance efficiencies and customer needs.
- Manages daily production needs for the equipment over a 24-48 hr period.
- Maintains work in process (WIP) inventories to maintain minimum inventory levels.
- Confers with department supervisors to determine progress of work, to provide information on scheduling changes, and to schedule preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Researches, complies, and prepares reports as directed.
- Ensures scheduling maintains shipping commitments for effective service to all customers and advises sales of any unplanned delays. Coordinates with shipping department to meet customer needs.
- Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork).
- Backup other members of the department as needed.
Education/Experience:
- Ability to plan and execute, establish procedures, problem-solve and prioritize.
- Must be a self-starter, proactive and possess strong decision-making skills.
- Must be able to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively to all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills, detail orientation and accuracy.
- Experience with SAP, Excel and general database knowledge preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Pay Range: $53,920.00 - $67,400.00
