 This position is responsible for the continuous improvement program at the Centralia, IL facility.  The Quality Manager works closely with GPI Sales and CTS (Customer Technical Services) teams and serves as the main liaison between all customers and the mill production team to address customer concerns. 

 

 IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Meet and maintain all divisional Process Management objectives as established by GPI.
  • Maintain a Quality System conforming to the standards and guidelines of the American National Standards Institute and Lean/Six Sigma practices.
  • Direct the activities, duties, and projects of the QC and Lab Technicians to assure compliance to customer specifications.
  • Serve as the plant’s contact for customer complaints and customer compliance audits.  Maintain reporting systems for internal and external complaints within SAP in accordance with GPI requirements.
  • Direct the development of SPC in both production and QC areas necessary to maintain a level of process control that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Execute and manage the facility HAACP certification program. 
  • Responsible for the location’s SQF system compliance including the internal and external audit processes.
  • Communicate plant quality expectations and monitor performance relative to the objectives in a timely and effective manner.
  • Responsible for compliance with all facility safety (GMP’s)/Sanitation policies and procedures. Must continually work to promote orderliness and cleanliness of their work area in support of companywide product stewardship standards.
  • Participate in facility efforts to attain financial commitments and meeting key performance indicators.

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, all employees are expected to work alternate schedules occasionally in order to meet business needs; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.

 

Required Skills:

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

Six years experience in Quality Management, Engineering Management, Production Management and/or Project Management in a manufacturing environment.

 

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

Bachelor Degree or equivalent practical experience (Minimum 2-year degree with 10 years of work experience in progressively more responsible positions)

  • Experience within a test lab environment.

  • To travel as needed to customers.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • To participate in On-call/weekend duty rotation.
  • Knowledge of printing press runnability.
  • Familiarity with SAP.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results by developing your team.
  • The ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost control and employee relations. 
  • To have quality orientation and excellent attention to detail. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities. 
  • To be able to function both as a team member as well as an individual contributor. 
  • Six Sigma Green or Black belt training is a plus.

 

Pay Range:   $87,660.00 - $116,910.00
