Operations Manager (Assistant Plant Manager) Profile Summary

This profile describes the key objectives, competencies, personal traits, and critical experience of the Operations Manager role and the typical feeder roles for this position. It is intended to be used for development planning, internal readiness, as well as external selection.

Key Objectives:

  • EBITDA and Cash Targets - Improve productivity and decrease waste through the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and projects. Increase labor efficiency and utilization, including staffing and overtime. Develop site specific P&L understanding for the purpose of monitoring opportunities and measured results.
  • Organizational Effectiveness - Drive positive Employee Engagement, GPI culture, and development of talent at the location. Implement high performance management practices, including Lean Sigma, daily management processes and other related programs. Develop talent and site-specific succession plans through assignments, job rotations, promotions to build bench strength.
  • Operational Excellence - Meet or exceed operational efficiency goals, as well as standards for environmental, safety, quality, working conditions and cleanliness through daily oversight and direction of management team. Ensure assets are appropriately maintained through planning and implementation of maintenance programs and procedures, including preventative maintenance and reliability. Leverage Operational Excellence team(s) through process standardization efforts, FCTC use and onsite resource allocation supporting specific project work

Critical Experiences:

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Manufacturing Discipline, OR equivalent years of applicable experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Past leadership roles managing through complex operational and people challenges, as well as coaching, developing and
  • building talent.
  • Managing P&L and accountability for asset performance, to include maintenance/reliability and controlling costs in
  • association with performance levels.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma

 

 

Pay Range:   $106,110.00 - $141,480.00
