JOB SUMMARY: Maintain accurate pallet counts based on customer production requirements. The ability to identify quality defects with relation to quality of color, visual comparison of approved color sample, quality audits by visual inspection including reading job specifications, labels and job file jackets in addition to transferring written information of critical job related information from paperwork to white boards.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Work within and adhere to GPI’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.
  • Responsible to generate system load tags and/or customer specific tags.
  • Provides daily load tags to Department Lead.
  • Responsible to complete case sealer production report.
  • Supply corrugated cases to glue lines.
  • Stack loads to ensure safety of product, person and according to palletizing specifications.
  • Stretch-wrap all finished loads.
  • Stage finished material in warehouse.
  • Sweep area and keep general warehouse department clean.
  • Lift/carry/push/pull pallets within the warehouse to designated locations manually or with pallet jack.
  • Lifts boxes from conveyor with bilateral hands and place onto pallets.
  • Communicate required information to co-workers and manager.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
  • Follow safety rules and regulations.
  • Follow department and company policies and procedures.
  • Report all food safety and quality problems to the Operator, Department Lead, Manager or Quality Team.
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

 

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Schedules are up to 8 or 12-hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off.  However, employees must have the ability to work alternate schedules and overtime that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
  • Some Departments/Jobs may run a M-F 8-hour Shift Schedule.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sitting or standing, depending on changing job assignment, for extended periods.
  • Awkward and/or repetitive movements.
  • Routine Lifting/Pushing/Pulling up to 30-35 lbs.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional Pushing/Pulling up to 70 lbs.
  • Push/pull pallet jack with up to 50-70 lb. load.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Work in areas of fluctuating temperature.
