OPPORTUNITY:
Graphic Packaging International is a foodservice cup forming manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join our Clarksville, TN team. This job posting is for a Receiving Clerk/Load Planner position.
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs clerical duties required in a warehouse setting. Responsible for receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness of shipments, and maintaining inventory records.
Duties include drafting, collecting, completing, and filing all documents concerning shipping and receiving. Understanding and aligning business operations through execution of the role while meeting or exceeding customer expectations and aligning with GPI’s business, cultural, financial, and operation objectives.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
WORK DEVICE:
Computer, computer keyboard, adding machine, telephone, fax machine, copier, printer, RF unit, CB radio, handheld radio, bills of lading, files, logbooks, railroad database, scales, calculation sheets, purchase orders, delivery orders, and all inventory reports.
EDUCATION PREFERRED:
High School Diploma or GED, strongly preferred but not required
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 18 years or older, required
- One-year warehousing experience, required
- Previous warehouse clerking experience, required
- Computer literacy and keyboarding skills, including spreadsheets, charts, and technical manuals – familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and/or warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and units of measure
- Well-developed communications and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Maintains positive team environment
- Demonstrated organizational skills and strongly detail oriented
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-pace, multi-task environment
- Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
- Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation. This includes walking or standing for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours; climbing stairs; lifting to 50 pounds; carrying to 30 pounds; lowering to 30 pounds from a height of 4 feet; pushing to 250 pounds using carts or other various tools; visual acuity and depth perception; working in various temperatures and humidity levels.
TRAINING PROVIDED:
On the job training provided by experienced Warehouse Clerks, Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse Manager
SUPERVISOR REQUIREMENTS:
Supervision provided by Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Manager, and various members of the Leadership Team
TIME OF OPERATION:
Standard 8-hour shifts: first shift works from 6am to 2pm, second shift works from 2pm to 10pm, third shift works from 10pm to 6am.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
- Work within and adhere to GPI’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork
- Adhere to plant and corporate safety policies by always performing duties in a safe and orderly manner; be actively engaged in all safety programs
- Ensure production and distribution of products are consistent with established food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
- Maintain 5S in assigned area by keeping work area and equipment clean and orderly
- Prepare, file, and maintain all bills of loading
- Compile data on receiving and shipping activity, as required
- Receive all raw materials for plant into QAD and SAP systems
- Maintain daily inventory movement in QAD
- Enter data into Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Access
- Record and maintain data, such as quantity, description, and damage for all items shipped and received
- Process all delivery orders
- Prepare UPS and Federal Express shipments
- Ensure inventory reports are kept in process
- Process dock appointments for incoming and outgoing materials/product
- Work with Cycle Counters to correct inventory when problems arise
- Distribute reports to the Leadership Team and other production departments
- Communicate effectively with oncoming shift about any issues
- Fulfill overtime requirements as necessary
- Fulfill other duties as assigned; assisting in other areas as required by changing business needs
