Materials Management Analyst

We have a great opportunity for a motivated self-starter in our Material Supply Group (MST). The Material Supply group, within Supply Chain, is primarily responsible for inventory management and procurement for our Americas group.  Further, the MST group is responsible for working with our mill team to secure on time delivery of paperboard to our folding carton plants.

The MST should have excellent analytical skills and be comfortable both compiling large amounts of data and utilizing it to make decisions. This position’s responsibilities include effectively and efficiently meeting internal and external customer needs, expectations, and requirements; as well as using data to drive for solutions.

Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

Mill Schedule

  • Actively review, monitor, and revise mill schedules to meet Americas converting needs
  • Collaborate with supply chain and mill personnel to optimize mill trim, transportation cost, and run strategies
  • Utilize MRP system within SAP to assist plants with acquisition of paperboard in support of production orders and reservations placed by customer service
  • Develop and maintain VMI program to optimize raw material inventory in each converting facility
  • Work closely with supply chain, operations and mills to support delivery of board to maximize customer on-time delivery and plant run strategies, while minimizing board inventory, transportation costs and plant downtime
  • Reduce aged roll stock inventory by assisting manufacturing facilities in obtaining the correct roll widths needed for production. This includes finding the most cost-effective solution when utilizing non-optimal roll widths to meet customer demand.
  • Work on special projects as directed to include, but not limited to: SAP/MRP improvement, Continuous Improvement initiatives, and Material Automation.
  • Utilize Monthly Fiber reporting to support Inventory Management initiatives

Software / Computer

  • Utilize SAP, QlikView and Microsoft Office, primarily Excel
  • Understand and efficiently use the corporate database and software for a variety of tasks
  • Manage large amounts of Data to make timely decisions

Teamwork

  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete the schedule and all daily required tasks in a timely manner
  • Effectively interface and interact with internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers, and co-workers to resolve issues (such as our plants, mill, customer service and sales) in a timely fashion

Training and Continuous Improvement

  • Actively participate in employee Certification and Re-Certification activities
  • Provide input to improving and creating training and process documents
  • Assist in the identification and development of Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Monitor, manage, and complete projects of varying focus, scope, complexity, and duration

Other

  • All Other duties, as assigned

Required Experience

  • 4-year degree with a business or supply chain focus preferred, or related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working in support of manufacturing operations, specifically in the area of raw materials procurement and inventory management
  • Prior demonstrated experience (5 years) with in Manufacturing or similar environment
  • Prior experience (3-5 years) in in ERP and MRP environment, SAP preferred
  • Any level of LEAN / Six Sigma education and experience
  • Solid Computer Skills, particularly Excel are a must, Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Paperboard Manufacturing
  • Ability to communicate and work as a member of a team to develop optimal solutions within a manufacturing environment.
