Mission / Scope

The Senior Materials Management Analyst is responsible for paperboard inventory management and procurement for various manufacturing facilities throughout the United States. This role will provide strategic input and recommendations related to paperboard inventory across the Americas division.

 

Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

SME in utilizing MRP system within SAP to assist plants with acquisition of paperboard in support of production orders and reservations placed by customer service.

Work closely with supply chain, and mills to support delivery of board to maximize customer on-time delivery and plant run strategies, while minimizing board inventory, transportation costs and plant downtime.

Lead weekly calls with operations to align on inventory vs. target, aged inventory, press downtime, delivery delays and customer impacts.

Collaborate with supply chain and mill personnel to optimize mill trim, transportation cost, and run strategies.

Lead the process for team in working with other divisions to utilize off grade and trim rolls opportunities.

Oversee as well as participate in the reduction of aged roll stock inventory by assisting manufacturing facilities in obtaining the correct roll widths needed for production. This includes finding the most cost-effective solution when utilizing non-optimal roll widths to meet customer demand.

Work on special projects as directed to include, but not limited to: SAP/MRP improvement, Continuous Improvement initiatives, and Material Automation. 

Serve as the department champion for improving Mill Prioritization and best practices across the CRB & SUS mills.

Plant training on best practices of board ordering and inventory management.

Assist in maintaining of the fiber forecasting model for Americas and Supply Chain; goal is 95% accuracy of paperboard demand by substrate.  Forecast is continuously analyzed and updated.

Will act as department Lead with focus on improving processes and training

Required Skills

Ability to communicate and work as a member of a team to develop optimal solutions within a manufacturing environment

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Outstanding computer skills, including Microsoft Office

Demonstrated leadership ability with a record of obtaining results while working with a cross-functional team

Strong computer skills, particularly with Excel, are a must

Experience analyzing large quantities of data to determine optimal solutions for improved profitability and efficiencies in a manufacturing environment


Required Experience

Demonstrated experience working in support of a manufacturing operations, specifically in the area of raw materials procurement and inventory management

SAP experience

4-year degree with business or supply chain focus is a plus

7-10 years experience in manufacturing or a similar environment

6-10 years experience in SAP and MRP

Proven knowledge of Paperboard Manufacturing

CPIM, inventory management certification a plus
