Title:  Strategic HR Business Partner (Manufacturing Complex)

As the Human Resources Manager in Elk Grove Village, IL.,  you will be a strategic business partner, culture carrier, and trusted advisor for the manufacturing leadership team at this multi-site complex. This position requires an experienced, collaborative, and influential leader who can partner effectively with the leadership team to influence and enable a high-performing and engaged workforce. 

 

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:  

  • Fostering positive employee & labor relations by promoting the union-free environment and proactively counseling and problem-solving with managers and employees ensuring a productive work environment, consistent with company values and policies and in adherence to state and federal regulatory law
  • Promoting employee retention and succession planning through active career development planning and execution
  • Coaching leaders on performance-based areas including corrective action plans, training gaps, terminations, and severance agreements
  • Actively investigating employee relation issues such as employee grievances and complaints, harassment allegations and recommending appropriate actions
  • Actively participating in continuous improvement (Lean, Gemba, Kaisen, etc.) efforts throughout the facility
  • Developing workforce planning strategies for the hourly workforce
  • Driving the use of operational metrics geared towards HR annual improvement projects

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field, Masters preferred
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Bilingual Skills (Spanish) are highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office-Excel

Required Experience

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience managing Human Resources in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience managing and developing a team of HR employees
  • Demonstrated Business Partner skills blending the right mix of HR and Operations focus
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Labor Relations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of union avoidance strategies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Culture assessments and Continuous Improvement/Lean processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws and other government compliance regulations
