POSITION PURPOSEJOB FUNCTIONS The following is a list of specific duties which are considered the essential functions of this job. The list is not exhaustive, as all positions at the company are dynamic. The employee who occupies this position is expected to assume any/all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in this list.
- Responsible for retrieving loaded pallets of paperboard from sheeting area and transporting them (by use of forklift) to the new Heidelberg presses within the printing area. Must ensure all loads delivered to the press meet load quality expectations. Jeep Driver spends approximately 95% of working shift on forklift.
- If load quality is not met, employee will aerate loads to achieve acceptable load quality
- Responsible for emptying rag containers, filling solvent containers, removing garbage and other general duties associated with the operations of the printing department.
- Responsible for performing daily preventive maintenance duties on forklift. Material Handler must go through check list (check water and oil level, air blow engine, check brake, etc...) on daily basis. Jeep Driver is also responsible for refilling empty propane tanks.
- Responsible for learning the printing dynamics within the new Heidelberg press and learn to be a Second Press Operator. This position will be responsible to cover the Second Press Operator during breaks and lunches.
- Responsible for operating and conducting preventive maintenance on Aerator as scheduled.
- Position is associated with walking, lifting (propane tanks, cases of cartons, etc...), carrying (propane tanks), and sitting (in forklift).
- Printing experience required.
- Person must have physical coordination to operate forklift. Person is operating forklift approximately 95% of working shift.
- Material Handler is continually getting on and off forklift (getting off lift to start wrapping machine; getting on lift to move materials, etc...) throughout working shift.
- Handler must be able to lift propane tank (weighing approximately 50 - 60 lbs.) and carry tank to area to be filled. This activity is performed approximately every work shift.
