Job Summary:  This position responsible for developing and maintaining standard operating procedures throughout the Complex.  Also responsible for analyzing quality metrics, customer feedback, and developing action plans to ensure high quality and customer satisfaction.

  1. Interface with multiple departments to develop and maintain product and process information databases; SAP, etc.
  2. Maintain the WIN-SPC database and product library overseeing proper utilization requiring the ability to comprehend calculations related to a normal distribution and statistical controls
  3. Facilitate the NBM process and records
  4. Develop and maintain databases and automated collection systems
  5. Maintain metrics, graphs, and develop action plans in support of organization workout team projects, LEAN documentation, while learning all facets of the folding carton industry.
  6. Support maintenance and research of Customer Specifications
  7. Create and effectively communicate quality metrics to key stakeholders as needed.
  8. Work closely across the company on various corporate issues and projects.
  9. Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and business processes. Manage the control of documents and procedures; update/create as needed.  Perform regular audits of the standard procedures.
  10. Collect and analyze operational, service, and customer data to ensure, drive, and create action plans that improve product reliability, customer satisfaction, and quality resulting in improved metrics while ensuring valid data.
  11. Provide quality data analysis to improve teams and processes on a timely basis.
  12. .Manage and maintain quality alert programs.
  13. Will serve as the liaison between the customer and Graphic Packaging through site visits and other communication.

 The position is associated with walking (back and forth from QC office to presses), standing (making inspections), handling (sorting cartons, operating test machinery), and visual acuity at short distances (to observe carton for defects).

 Physical Demands:

 Technician’s vision must be acute at short distances (20 inches or less) in order to inspect the quality of flat cartons.  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., ability to walk up and down staircases, and ability to stand up to 12 hours.  Color vision is required to detect variances in the color of the product.

 Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions:

 Inside conditions: Extremes of heat (seasonal), humidity (seasonal), noise (from production machinery), paper dust.

 Job Qualifications/Knowledge:

  1. A bachelor's degree is required; 1 – 3 years’ experience in quality systems and continuous improvement preferred.
  2. Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English. Clear and professional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  3. Must have the ability to create and decipher charts and graphs.
  4. Ability to communicate comfortably and effectively with upper management and customers. 
  5. Knowledge of various carton defects and their causes a plus.
  6. Ability to perform intermediate/advanced computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access); SAP knowledge a plus.
  7. Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  8. Must be flexible, self-motivated, and willing to expand their responsibilities.
