We are looking for a strong ad energetic Quality and CI leader. This role is responsible for the implementation and sustained use of lean methods and quality tools to bring about improved efficiency and business success. The Quality and CI leader will need to have the right ability to work across all levels of management from our on-the-floor members to the leadership team. 

Main Responsabilities:

  • Ensure administration of the quality program within the carton manufacturing segment
  • Guide resolution of customer and supplier quality-related issues
  • Coordinate the development of the quality program
  • Facilitate quality and compliance auditing and gap analysis programs leveraging layered internal auditing
  • Appraise quality, determine problem areas and assist in the development of corrective actions with source owners
  • Guide and assist responsible departments in the development of their quality plans that meet or exceed customer requirements
  • Facilitate departments in disciplined problem-solving methodologies and tools and techniques
  • Facilitate deployment of quality approaches within functional areas of the unit
  • Represent the customer perspective during internal process or product changes or issues
  • Oversee the measurement of employee satisfaction both formally (survey) and informally (MBWA)
  • Assist in defining the operational systems that assure customer requirements are met
  • Provide special skills necessary to support the functional operations in their efforts and objectives
  • Ensure that adequate personnel and skills are available to support the functional unit’s quality needs
  • Participate in cost savings initiatives as they pertain to the Quality department and cost of poor quality 
  • Delegate quality authority and assign responsibility
  • Maintain lines of communication related to quality activities in all directions.
  • Ensure that validation provides effective, objective, efficient, and statistically reliable evaluations

Safe Quality Foods – GFSI Certification

• Trained and Certified in SQF Level 3 Certification for food packaging and HACCP.
• Responsible for the verification of SQF controls and meeting the standards of the SQF requirements.
• Organize and conduct annual training for all SQF required compliance including but not limited to HACCP, GMPs, Allergens, Food Defense, Food fraud & others (See SQF Code 8.2)
• Responsible for the development, implementation, review, maintenance, communications of SQF
• Own and execute annual SQF Food Safety Recertification to measure effectiveness and completeness of existing SQF systems, monthly and quarterly internal audits schedule, and all other layered auditings as it relates to quality and food safety
• Validation and Verification of SQF controls with determined frequency/schedule.
• Review and update training skills requirements for Safe Quality Foods.
• Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork.


Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in quality, or equivalent experience.
  • SQF and HACCP certifications.
  • Six Sigma experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and direct others.
  • Prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office/Excel, Outlook, and internet research skills.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control theories.
  • Experience in the implementation of technical testing in production environments.
  • General knowledge of printing and converting technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with Minitab software and SAP preferred.
  • Travel required up to 10% of the time but on an as-needed basis to interact with any customers dealing with quality concerns; Should be open to future relocation for maximum advancement opportunity
  • Visual Color Discrimination, the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors.
