Engineer Intern

 

Graphic Packaging International, Inc., headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is a leading provider of packaging solutions for a wide variety of products to food, beverage and other consumer products companies.  The Company is one of the largest producers of folding cartons and holds a leading market position in coated-unbleached Kraft board and coated-recycled board. One of its facilities is currently seeking an Intern.  The position is located at the Fort Smith, Arkansas plant, which is part of the Consumer Products Division producing sheet fed cartons.

 

 

SUMMARY:

The Reliability Engineers role is to lead the efforts to reduce unscheduled downtime on equipment and improve overall equipment reliability.

 

 

JOB FUNCTION:

  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) process to identify root cause and determine corrective actions to prevent recurrence of equipment failure.
  • Analyze downtime to identify “bad actors” and assist in prioritizing reliability improvement efforts.
  • Lead one or more projects that will be started and completed within the summer.
  • Assist in maintaining and modifying existing information and control systems.
  • Assist in writing standard operating procedures.
  • Provide engineering support to other departments as needed.
  • Present to the department periodically and at the end of the internship.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
